Question - if you maintain around 1500-2000 at your ideal weight, does that mean you can eat 1500-2000 while still losing weight? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

I know that during my slow recomp phases I lose slowly eating between 1700 - 2300 gross calories (active person here).

Its a guess bu i think that when I start my maintenance I will be able to eat around the 2000 mark, most likely between 2000-2300 gross calories! If I have a rest day then I might have to eat a little less, say 1900.

I've plugged my numbers into a few calculators, and I maintain somewhere around 1700 calories. I'm 5'1", currently at 109 lbs. I take MRT classes 3 times a week, and I'll occasionally squeeze in 15 minutes of brisk walking or jogging on the treadmill, usually to prep myself for a heavy night out of eating if I feel like treating myself.

Seriuosly? Some of you ladies are eating way too little. I'm 5'2" and my weight ranges between 150-154 and have been maintaining my weight since early last year on anywhere between 2000 (no workout, sedentary weekend day) to 2400-2800 on workdays (Medical Assistant at a busy clinic, lots of walking) depending on whether I exercise or not. Anyone who thinks they're maintaining on 1500-1700 cals has a damaged metabolism I'm sure......

Well, age has a lot to do with BMR. I'm 57 and my BMR is 1050. At 5'1" and 104 pounds, I can maintain at about 1300-1400 calories. I have not damaged my metabolism. I've just gotten older.
  • Im 105 lbs.. I'm still trying to tone and eat around 1500/day is that too high?
Im pretty much an active person I hit the gym 3-4x a week.
  • 5'4 133 pounds. I maintain on 1,800-2,200. It just depends on how active I am.

With my workout routine, I maintain on 3000 daily. Lift 3x per week for an hour and 2 days of low / medium cardo for 30 - 60 minutes. Otherwise a rather sedentary job. I'm 6'3 250 lbs

I am 5 ft even 180 pounds and have a calory intake of 1500 per day. I have a goal of 130 pounds, I was wondering if that was ok. I'm a medical assistant in a office of 5 doctors and currently doing exercise for 45 minutes dancing or low impact cardio. Any opinion?

It really depends on a lot of different factors, activity level being one.

    I am 5'5'', 29 y/o, 138 pounds and maintain between 2200-2300 cals. I workout anywhere from 3-5 days per week...sometimes more.

    Depends on how defined.

    6'1", 198 lb

I maintain at 2700 NET calories.

If I don't "eat my exercise calories back" I maintain at about 3500 calories (average of about 800 cal exercise/day).
