  • Hi hun, don't be so hard on yourself...or your boyfriend, weight happens! Good luck with the loss. We can do it. Hey, yes, your eating habits need to change probably, but don't forget genetics are a real factor dear, so it's not all you! Congrats on an awesome boyfriend!

disappointed......Not at all what I thought this thread was going to be about.

Tip: You can't blame your weight gain on anyone but yourself.

Lmfao... I was gonna say the same!
  • I'm dealing with the same issue...... I left my husband a little over two years ago...dropped a ton of weight and met my current bf shortly after. I felt great, we went out to eat a lot and the whole wine and dine scene was not nice to my body......now two year later I have a newborn and an additional 60 lbs......although three months ago that number was 87 lbs.

I hear that miserable crack addicts generally don't have weight problems.
    What about happy crack addicts?

    Aren't they models?

    LMAO!

As long as you're doing it for YOURSELF. One other poster was right, a lot of women are hooked up with jerks.

Happened to me too. My husband and I both gained 40 pounds when we go together. Going away to college didn't help either. Good luck with your journey. :)

My BF is an excellent cook and takes me out alot, so more like I LET IT HAPPEN TO ME.
Regained 30lbs last year - of happy relationship weight. I get it.
Back down 5 lbs now - you can do it!

I've been with my wife for 13 years, and before joining MFP, I'd put on somewhere between 3 & 4 stone (20-25kg) over the course of the relationship, most of which was between getting married in 04, and moving in 08.

I think it's just a natural part of being in a relationship, until you notice that it's happening, and start doing something about it.

    Good luck on your journey!

Right there with ya. I guess the key here is to just be thankful that we're in happy relationships

I must be the only weirdo that loses weight and gets more fit when I'm in a relationship.
I was in the best shape of my life when I went through my last breakup. We had been together for around 5 years.
