Am I eating enough??

I am logging all my foods, I seldom get to 1200 calories, close but not quite, but I am not hungry. Is this going to be a problem. I have read many things that say my body is going to think I am starving, is this the case???

Thanks for any help!

There are a lot of variables involved that would be needed to give you a good answer, but my guess is that you're probably a little low. You might not actually hit "starvation mode", but your metabolism will slow down to compensate. I had the same problems when I ate pretty much nothing but low-calorie foods - mostly vegetables, chicken, fish and fat-free dairy.

I recommend some calorie-dense foods (nuts for example) and regular foods instead of their non-fat versions (at least sometimes).

You have 13lbs to lose, you most likely set your goal for 1-2 pounds per week. Drop it to .5, eat those calories. Who wouldn't want more food?? ahaha

Are you eating enough? Doesn't sound like it since we can't see your diary but know from what you said you're under 1200 so I'm going with yes. Check out this post: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12

and I agree with Kr1stadee-set your goal to lose as less than the 2 pounds, you're close to your goal so take time

I would say if you are not hungry and not tired you are fine. Starvation mode does not happen when you are close to your goal. In fact I have had people tell me it is a myth. Not sure what is true about that, but there is simple math less in more out. Stay on track and slowely you will get there.

If you're asking that question, the answer is most likely no. If you're exercising, then definitely not. There really isn't a magic number, but if you are eating very low calories consistently, you're going to feel like crap. You don't have all that much to lose so you might as well enjoy yourself in the process. I'm not telling you to eat a slice of cake, I'm saying add some calorie-dense good for you food. Nuts (add a couple of them to the pan before you start cooking and munch on them or add them to your meal. Yum), coconut oil, STEAK. Adding coconut milk and curry paste to anything you're having for dinner will make you happier haha. Don't punish yourself for getting overweight by eating too little, bland food.

Personally I think your breakfasts are not great.

You definitely should be eating more in the mornings for sure. Muesli bars or an apple just isn't good enough after your body has been resting for 8 hours.

Why not look it trying a protein shake in the morning if you don't like eating heavy?

Your calories seem to all come at the end of the day which is not such a great idea. Its better to spread them out throughout the day.

Are you exercising at all or drinking any water?

I would say if you are not exercising you are eating enough calories but the foods are not very balanced.

No. Looks like you skip breakfast. Add in some good protein sources there to not only keep you full until lunch but keep your cals above 1200. If you are one of those people who can't eat as soon as you get up (or before you leave for work) then bring it to work. I LOVE breakfast but keep it to 1/2 cup of All Bran a day when you should really get closer to 300 cals. Mmmm All Bran, mushy deliciousness! ;)

It's true, I have a really hard time eating in the morning and not snacking at night. I drink a ton of water during the day and I am working out about 4 times a week. I'll try a shake, thanks for the tip!
