Right lovely people can you help...
I go to a kettlersize class (kettlebell's training) once a week and it lasts an hour. There's a mixture of different cardio, strength and abdominal training involved and there are no breaks (you are allowed to take a drink when needed though) and I was wondering what I could put in my exercise tracker. -I really don't want to have to think of all the different exercises we do and track it that way its so tedious!- I put a lot of effort into it so I am working really hard and use a 2.5kg kettlebell throughout, however don't now what to put in the tracker so it can be accurate with the amount of calories burnt.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated! :flowerforyou:

im interested in this too, although not sure it could ever be accurate really without a HRM.0

I was curious how many calories my workouts were with my trainer and the ones in the MFP database seemed to calculate a little low. The last workout with my trainer I wore my heart rate monitor and found I was burning over 200 more than what I thought! That is the only way I can think to get a true count of what you are burning.0

I am going to have to say you should really invest in a good heart rate monitor with a strap that goes around your chest. That way you can get a more accurate read. I have found the inputs here are a little too high at times, other times too low. Maybe see what circuit training brings up in the Exercise database.0

I would say circuit training...0

I used to log it as circuit training, I went with a lady with a HRM and she used to burn around 400-5000

If you're using a 2.5kg kettlebell you're doing it wrong. Of course they always tend to totally destroy things when they make classes out of them.0

You can try to do a google search and get an estimate, when I do Shred with Weights, Jillian Michaels kettlebell workout, I just log it as circuit training, it seems to be a catch all.0

I use calisthenics (vigorous effort). I do a free weight circuit, so it's similar but not quite the same. I also am only loooking for generic numbers and am ok with the number MFP gives me.0

There are loads of different sized kettle bells, and the smallest is the 3kg (sorry typed in wrong weight) as I haven't trained before I use this weight. What weight should I be using?
Cheers!0 -
I started out with a 5kg bell while I learned form and moves. I'm now using a 8 kg weight.0

The poster has probably never heard of Kettlercise. They're going to be really upset when they do. Kettlercise classes have nothing to do with what is traditionally considered as kettlebell training, so try not to confuse the two (as others may well do when the comment on this thread).
I'd log it as aerobics.0 -
I had a hard time with this as well..I ended up buying a HR monitor to keep track with. Burns a whole lot more than I thought! Good luck!0

i only use a fairly low weight kettlebell because thats all I can do so far. You do what you can with the aim of getting better.
I think if someone states youre doing it wrong, without any more constructive info than that, then that person is usually worth ignoring.0 -
