I have never travelled outside my own country but hopefully get to travel around Europe next year
Once you're in Europe, travel is cheap to bounce around0 -
Northern India and Nepal, unforgetable.
Riding around on the back of a moped in Vietnam sunset was also pretty amazing!0 -
Iceland - amazing scenery (and very good weather when I was there)0
-
Galapagos Islands and Antarctica.
Galapagos is epic for the wildlife.
Antarctica is epic for the extreme remoteness and the fact it's so untouched.
I'm envious!0 -
I can't pick one... maybe I can go for a top 5
Iceland in the winter - beautiful, so much to do and the weather just makes for more adventure
London - Ok, so I live there now but once upon a time I was a tourist and there really is just so much to do (kept me busy for 6 touristy weeks!). Especially nice around Christmas time.
Bangkok - A lot of people say it was their least favourite part of Thailand but I liked it a lot, I guess I'm a city girl!
Oslo - Lovely city with very friendly locals - lots of water scenery
And a tie between Venice and Nice, both beautiful with amazing food
Honourable mention for Sydney but that's just a bit too much like home to make the list
My least favourite was Paris when I first went but had a better time the 2nd time around and Greece.0 -
Berlin, Germany. It's the first city I've ever been to and thought "wow, I need to LIVE here, this city is me" the whole time I was there. And I've been to a lot of great cities.
This totally! Chance would be a fine thing. Mind you The Great Wall was definitely worth the trip to China, and I can recommend that as well.0 -
Hisaronu & Fethiye in Turkey for relaxation and Ephesus and Pammukale for pure wow factor, steeped in history has great weather and is reasonably priced, off to Istanbul for a week in July before going off to Hisaronu to rejoin the wife and kids for 2nd part of summer hols (History and culture just does not interest her lol)0

I love Berlin too, also worth a trip to the Christmas markets!0 -
Hong Kong for me.... was born there and met my husband there - now live in Scotland but went back there last summer to take my teenage children so I could show them where I grew up. They loved it as much as I did. A bit of everything, culture, beaches, walking, food, shopping, temples, boat rides, dolphin watching, weather, food again!
Would recommend to everyone if you can go -love it and will be back!0 -
Dubai! Great place for food, shopping and a load of activities0

Australia....it was a amazing. Aussies are super chilled and laid back. If you ever go don't waste a lot of time in Syndey. It is like every other major city. The country and a lot of cool places to visit0

Berlin!! Visited 3 times. My favorite place on this earth. Will find a way to live there some day.
Runner up would probably be New Orleans. Most amazing, engaging, humble people I have ever met.0 -
South Dakota! Between exploring the Badlands to hiking in the forest and climbing in caves and being up in the mountains, it was perfect!0

Well I wanted to go to Europe before I turned 30 and was having trouble planning it… then I remembered travel group that my ex mentioned (Contiki for 18-35 year olds) – Granted most people do it at the younger end of that age range but it was an amazing experience. 7 countries in 9 days (London, Amsterdam, Innsbruk Austria, Munich & Rhyne Vally Germany, Noale & Venice Italy, Lucern Switzerland and Paris), made some amazing friends from all over the world that I am still close with – and the ones I met from the US I see once or twice a year. It cost me close to 3 grand at the end but I went myself, I wasn’t going to miss it because I couldn’t find anyone who could afford it or get the time off. How many people can say they “raided’ a 15th century castle in Noale Italy at 2AM.0

Aruba. Beautiful weather, gorgeous beaches, lots of activities...:glasses:0

LOVED Monte Carlo... Mediterranean is beautiful... there's a lot to see and do - great restaurants, great town for walking, 2 hour train ride to just about anywhere...
oh yeah - and there's the idle rich playboys who give you money to gamble with... at least they did 20 years ago... :drinker:0 -
Tiny village in the north of India, in Himachel Pradesh, I was teaching English to the kids and helping build up the school!! Ah memories!0
-
Monterey Peninsula - gorgeous scenery, lots to do outdoors and in, interesting towns, overall wonderful place to vacation.
Tassajara Zen Center - Very remote, outstanding veggie cuisine, incredible scenery and natural beauty, hot springs, zens teaching zazen, and loaded with history. This is a place where a 24-hour period feels like weeks.0 -
I just went to Oahu in September last year and it was amazing. I was only there a week and wish I had more time to see all of the island, and maybe even island hop. It was my first in Hawaii and I can't wait to go back!0
-
Several places for different reasons - I can't choose between Italy, Egypt, USA, India or the Maldives!!0
