I have 4 beautiful kiddos and a 5th is up in the air right now. However, for the first time ever, I'm committed to losing this baby weight (x4!!) before deciding on having another.

My question is to any mom who got in fab shape then got prego - were you able to maintain your results throughout the pregnancy (you know - were you one of THOSE women who shop for size xs in the maternity stores?) was the baby weight easy to shed if you maintained through the pregnancy??

I was in the best shape of my adult-hood and got pregnant with twins...eeek!! Being in the good shape I was definitely gave me the physical strength to have a very healthy pregnancy. I didn't workout except for walks at my doctors advise. I begged...but no running or strenuous exercise because I was considered high risk. I gained 50 lbs (16 of that was baby plus a few more for fluids). After having a c-section and remembering what it was like to sleep again I got back to my starting weight at 4.5 months after, though my body was not nearly the tight and fit form it had started to become over a year before. 10 most post-partum I am under my starting weight, working out hard again, eating well, and ready to start chasing two boys all around!

And XS was NEVER in my wheelhouse :)

I lost 89 lbs, and was in the best shape of my life but was still trying to add more muscle. Then the VERY month I went out and bought a WHOLE new wardrobe I found out I was pregnant with my third! The timing was pretty funny, but we are excited either way! The first trimester I wasn't allowed to workout plus I struggled with keeping foods down - except the starchy ones. So I packed on some pounds in the beginning. NOW that I am cleared to exercise and back to clean eating- I feel much better. I am hoping to maintain my weight the rest of the pregnancy. BUT I am not stressing, I am just trying to stay active, keep eating healthy and when the baby comes I will buckle down and lose any weight I gained. NO MATTER the amount I want to lose it all by this Summer, and I am due in May.

*** I never was a size xs, I was wearing a medium mostly and I still fit mediums right now even in maternity clothing. I can also fit most of my pants from before other than my belly gets in the way so they have to be unzipped.

Thanks girls! I guess there's always going to be some gain with pregnancy - I just really hope to avoid the 60+ pounds that came with 0 activity and the false notion of "eating for 2"
