So weighed myself this morning and still the same weight 228lbs . It has only been about two weeks and we'll aware it takes time but just wanted some advice based on my food diary ( available to view) and the fact that I do 20 mins (6mph) and kettle bell swings ( 40) on one evening and then 20 mins of tae bo video the next day . So fairly active , I have one rest day . I'm 5'4 too and I'm quite curvy with broad shoulders if that helps at all lol had my daughter 7 months ago and just glad I've got my strength back at least .
do you reckon I should have at least one hours session of exercise a week ?

I am no expert at this stuff at all and lord knows that I have had my struggles. I usually don't post on what people have in their diary's because again I am always struggling. I did look however and it doesn't look like you eat a whole lot of vegetables. Also I noticed that most of your calories are eaten in 2 meals with snacks through the day. Maybe more veggies and evenly distributing your calories would help a bit. Not sure but it is worth a try.0

Hiya, well done on starting!
I'd increase your exercise a bit if you can, but the variety you have is good.
On your diary, how accurate are you logging? I'm pretty sure you're not eating exactly 100g or 200g of anything. And did you really have half of a whole roast chicken?0 -

Why not? I do. I'll weigh it out with kitchen scales.0 -
last week I had cabbage soup for lunch Mon to wed and had salad with nearly everything but yeah I can increase the amount of vegetables ok eat . yeah I eat exactly that as I weigh it x0

it was a small sized chicken I had the legs , not breast as my partner had that . I just put half x0

OK, so for breakfast you have Aldi Go bananas 100g.
Is this a particular kind of banana? Every morning you weigh out exactly 100g of banana? Or is it a cereal -sorry I'm not familiar with the name.0 -
it's just one banana ( small sized) that's what mfp says0

First off congratz on the effort to get in shape.
You should probably look into a pre-set routine where you are doing full body exercises for beginners like New rules of lifting or www.stronglifts.com.
You should probably be hitting between 1600-1800 cals a day at your activity.
I notice in your diary 1500 days down to 900cal days.
Do you do any measurements for body fat as opposed to weighing?
You should have lost most of your water weight within the first 10 days.

thanks for replying . yeah I'm going to start measuring from today and weigh once a month instead of weekly . just about to read your post link . so am I eating too little or too much ?0

We all struggle, and I find that when I am struggling I am not eating enough for breakfast, and I also start to watch my sodium intake. I find if I put some protein in with my fruit in the morning, such as Greek yogurt, or a lean sausage patty I do much better on the whole. I also start trying to eat back some of my exercise calories I burned. It is difficult sometimes, and we are all here to help.0

I think with all this research and reading posts , it's made me scared to eat .0

I would suggest weighing/measuring everything so you know what you're entering is accurate. You might want to eat a bit more as well, some days you're quite low on calories.0

Don't be scared. You're eating too little.0 -
When you exercise make sure you work up a continuous sweat. I have to have intense exercise, my fat laughs when I don't sweat LOL0

Hi
I agree with the first post, I'm not one to judge on the diary thing either, I just started this whole process. Congrats on the baby by the way Have you thought about going to meet with a nutrionist? I did I also think you do need to divid up your meals, like I have Three meals and 3 snacks a day. (the snacks are not big, but just enough so that at meal time I dont eat as much. I never use to snack through out the day, or I would snack because I was starving in between meals)
I work out 6 days a week( I just started this whole process 2 weeks ago) and I have tried other things in the past that have not worked for me. I have a personal trainer that I was able to afford, to help me(I needed a littte extra motivation then just the gym or a video) I generally do 1hr at the gym, I do about half an hour of cardio(bike, tread
Are you BFding? not all woman lose weight when they do that, and I know woman that do this have to eat a little extra in order to produce.
I think it's great you do have such motivation for someone who just had a baby(I say 7 months is still new ) I think if you eat a little bit more veriety as well will help(veggies are good, but you need carbs and protein too)
Hang in there!0 -
Are you nursing your daughter? I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you have to factor that into your calorie intake, too, like adding a couple hundred more calories daily when nursing. Those days are LONG gone for me (lol) and I didn't really have the opportunity to nurse either of my kids. (Daughter was born at 28 weeks and in the hospital for 7 weeks after her birth and I ended up in hospital needing surgery a month after son was born.)0

never thought of talking to a nutritionist but I will have a search . I dud think I had three meals a day , do you mean a proper breakfast as oppose to just a banana ? I'm so confused about this eating stuff lol no always bottle fed from start . brought more fruit for this week and getting my veg in a soup . I wish I could have a trainer , I always lose weight when I have one but can't afford a gym membership let alone a trainer lol x0

I think its an additional 250-500cals if Breastfeeding.0 -
I don't see any fresh veggies in your diary. Also you eat soups. You might want to reconsider your brand of soup. Read the labels and see how much salt is added. Those are the only suggestions I have right now. Watch the sodium and eat fresh veggies. I have a salad with lunch and dinner most days. Sometimes I have a large salad with protein on top like salmon, tuna or chicken breast meat as my meal. Its low in calories and fat, low in salt and very filling.0

I make my own soups now , started cooking not last Sunday but Sunday before . the thing is I had cabbage most of last week and have salad most days . I can always eat more fresh veg like carrots I guess x0
