Can I be ready...

for a flat half-marathon on April 13th? I haven't been running much in the past 6 months, and have never done a half (though it's a goal of mine for 2013). I now have a rockin' treadmill at home so I can run when the weather is icky.

you can definietly be ready. I ran a half marathon in may of 2010..i started training in january and I fractjured my leg in 2 places 8 weeks before and still ran and completed my half( my time would have been better had i not fractured my leg) make sure you train smart and I have all the faith that you can do it! I plan on running one in may of this year again! good luck with your training!

I would say yes as long as you are in pretty decent shape right now... have you been doing any sort of exercising? Hal Higdon has a good 12 week novice training program that I did before my first half.

I trained for my first half marathon for three months, and was fine (and it was not flat). then I enjoyed it so much I did another one exactly a month later! ;)

i'm doing a 12wk plan for the princess 1/2 on feb 24th...you gotta get started now though, no fooling around.....12 solid weeks of training should do you just fine as long as you are not trying to PR and actually even if you are depending on your past times....

here's a link to the plan i'm doing with my dates of course.....

You can absolutely do it! Did my first half a year ago with 3 months training (and I'm a lot older than you). So excited for you. Pick a training plan and get going.

my suggestion is also to be consistent with stretching... many say you don't need to stretch before or run but I do before and after. I have an app on my iphone called yoga for runners and they have a great pre- and post run routine... I think about 15 minutes each...
