Exercise Calories Burn

I use a heart rate monitor when I work out to see how many calories I burn. My question is... When do I stop the counting calories burned? Immediately after I finish my exercises or is there a certain amount of time? I read that you burn calories even after you stop working out. (Yes I know you burn calories all the time but I mean after you exercise the rate of burned calories is different then when you have not exercised)

Please let me know.

Thanks

You count the calories burned only during the time of the workout. Done working out, turn off the HRM.

Once your heart rate starts to drop stop recording. As you said you always burn calories so leaving the monitor running isn't measuring your exercise calories.
