My story

I have been overweight my whole life. Made fun of..etc. After graduating High School I just didn't care and ate as my heart desires (no pun intended). I've been on diets and done well but I always quit after a month. I want to lose weight to look better, get healthy..etc. It will take me at least a year. I have no idea how to stay with something like this. Any support and tips would be much appreciated thanks.

    this is a great first step.

    Hold yourself accountable, you have to want this and you are going to be the one to make it happen.

    I found that logging on here everyday and tracking my food intake as well as my excersise really holds me accountable. I think about everything I eat before i put it it my mouth.

    make sure to set small reasonable, attainable goals..not long term goals. that will usually lead to failure. Maybe start by saying I would like to lose 10% of my body weight by whatever date you choose.

    Know that you can do anything you set your mind to...but you have to really want it and you have to be ready and willing to change.

    I find it hard to look at the big picture. If you tell yourself, "I have to do this for a year," it might get overwhelming. Break it down into small goals, and then your little victories will keep you going!!!
