IIFYM: If It Fits Your Macros
That was another one! NSV - I seen an entire NSV thread/argument and couldn't figure it out! thank you now it's all making sense!0 -
sorry if this is a silly question.... What's a macro?0
-
NSV= non scale victory .. like your pants fitting better or something. Being able to walk up stairs without feeling like you are going to die. Things like that.
Macro = fat, carbs, potassium, sugar, salt .. all the stuff that isn't Calories (I do believe!)0 -
Macros are your macronutrients that you are tracking on MFP
Carbs
Fat
Protein
Sodium
etc0 -

Protein/fat/carbs/sugar etc. You could eat anything to fit within your daily amount but some choose to make sure they hit certain amounts of protein or stay under a certain sugar amount or get a certain amount of fiber.0 -
BUMP = Bring Up My Post.
Macros are the numbers that make up calories under the food tab. eg, you'll have (say, 50% Carbs, 30% Protein, 20% fat) to make up your 100% of your calorie intake. I think that explains it. Sort of.0 -
I'm sticking with LOL, OMG and TTFN!! These other letters are too confusing. :bigsmile:0
-
Ha ha... I am old and have no idea:laugh:0

sorry if this is a silly question.... What's a macro?
this is the correct answer sodium and sugar .... are not a macro nutrients
BUMP is misused by many to bookmark a topic please do not do this0 -
NROL4W stands for New Rules of Lifting for Women. My guess is that it's some sort of weight lifting program. I found it while checking out 'groups' under message boards,0

Why would sodium not be considered under Macro? I thought in the sense that people use it hey meant just all of the other things you can track that aren't Calories. Legit question, not trying to troll or anything.0 -
Wait.... i did want to comment on the "BUMP" - that also adds the thread to "My Topics" - so if you see a recipe thread or a thread with something you want to keep tabs on... "reply" with "bump" or whatever you want and it will go into your topics. I typically reply with "love this" or "looking forward to seeing what next" .... not a huge fan of "bump". I got enuff "bumps" - i don't need to add more. :happy:0

I've seen some people post hw, lw etc on their profiles... there are more words. But what do those mean?0

In nutrition, macronutrients are those nutrients that together provide the vast majority of metabolic energy to an organism. The three main macronutrients are carbohydrates, proteins, and fat. Others include alcohol and organic acids. They are distinguished from micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals necessary in small amounts to maintain health but not to provide energy.0 -

lw: lowest weight
gw: goal weight

I've also seen ETA (context is usually like you would use a PS in a letter). What is ETA??
Thanks.0 -
ETA = Edited to add (explains why a post was edited)0
