    NSV= non scale victory .. like your pants fitting better or something. Being able to walk up stairs without feeling like you are going to die. Things like that.

    Macro = fat, carbs, potassium, sugar, salt .. all the stuff that isn't Calories (I do believe!)

    Protein/fat/carbs/sugar etc. You could eat anything to fit within your daily amount but some choose to make sure they hit certain amounts of protein or stay under a certain sugar amount or get a certain amount of fiber.

    BUMP = Bring Up My Post.

    Macros are the numbers that make up calories under the food tab. eg, you'll have (say, 50% Carbs, 30% Protein, 20% fat) to make up your 100% of your calorie intake. I think that explains it. Sort of.

    this is the correct answer sodium and sugar .... are not a macro nutrients

    BUMP is misused by many to bookmark a topic please do not do this :D
  • NROL4W stands for New Rules of Lifting for Women. My guess is that it's some sort of weight lifting program. I found it while checking out 'groups' under message boards,

    Why would sodium not be considered under Macro? I thought in the sense that people use it hey meant just all of the other things you can track that aren't Calories. Legit question, not trying to troll or anything.

    Wait.... i did want to comment on the "BUMP" - that also adds the thread to "My Topics" - so if you see a recipe thread or a thread with something you want to keep tabs on... "reply" with "bump" or whatever you want and it will go into your topics. I typically reply with "love this" or "looking forward to seeing what next" .... not a huge fan of "bump". I got enuff "bumps" - i don't need to add more. :happy:

    By definition, macronutrient is an essential dietary component consumed in large amounts (proteins, fats, carbohydrates). They are big categories of nutrients. Sugars, etc. fall within them.

    http://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/nutritional_disorders/nutrition_general_consideration/overview_of_nutrition.html?qt=&sc=&alt=

    In nutrition, macronutrients are those nutrients that together provide the vast majority of metabolic energy to an organism. The three main macronutrients are carbohydrates, proteins, and fat. Others include alcohol and organic acids. They are distinguished from micronutrients such as vitamins and minerals necessary in small amounts to maintain health but not to provide energy.

    Interesting. Though, I always thought you would need salt > sugar?

    hw = highest weight
    lw = lowest weight
    gw = goal weight
    cw = current weight
    BF% = body fat %
    LBM lean body mass
    BMR = basal metabolic rate - calories you burn in a coma
    TDEE + Total daily energy expenditure = BMR + burn for daily activities + burn for exercise
