Protein Shake After Cardio??

So, I have my goals set to 40, 30, 30, carbs, fat, protein. An 1600 calories. I'm trying to reduce BF%. And so I'm really trying to meet these macros and not really go over, so I've been using EAS protein, my shake has 175 calories, 26 g protein. I do eat a lot of protein throughout the day, but I find it hard to meet my macros and especially calories without this shake. I've seen lots of mixed reviews on having a shake after cardio. I'm planning on doing 1 hour of cardio (elliptical today) pretty high intensity, and then some light toning exercises as today is cardio not strength. Is it bad to have this protein shake after this type of a workout? My muscles are really sore from a few harder recent workouts, which is why I'm opting for a lower impact cardio workout, and I know protein helps repair muscles, so would this be good or bad?

Go for it, protein shake aids recovery...you're still using your =body and muscles to do cardio, so it will do you good0

There's no reason not to, as long as you're staying within your macros- you can really eat whatever you like.
But beware of the onslaught of criticism you will receive if you use the word "toning" in the forums.

well that's stupid as f u ck because people say words that traditionally don't mean what we use them as now, and it doesn't really matter, as long as people know what you mean why do they care if it's not exactly 100% perfectly correct.

It will not hurt at all. If you feel full all the time then fine. If you have trouble feeling full all the time, you might opt for solid food instead.0

Have the shake! It won't hurt your efforts!0

I do it to hit my calories & macros, then again I'm doing Insanity and it has a ton of body weight exercises.0

I say totally.
Especially if you feel like you're going to have trouble hitting your caloric and macro/nutrient requirements. I know I plan to aim for at least 2 protein shakes a day. But it all depends on what your needs are. You can do it!!!

No, it's just annoying everyone on here thinks he/she is an expert, and everyone gets so upset when someone says something they don't like, why do you all care so much how someone else words something0 -

My protein shake is my reward for working out, in addition to helping me meet my macros. And it's CHOCOLATE! Ha ha! Nothing wrong with having a bit of chocolate every day!0

Wow..okay. I was making a joke about what's likely to happen when you use the word in the forums. If at any point I claimed to be an expert, then I do apologize. Seems like a very strange thing to flip out about.0
