If you can afford it and live in a climate where you can use it all year I say go for it.

We have something very similar, and live in Nebraska. I love it because 7 months of the year hubby does most of the cooking. Try that angle with your wife. :)

outdoor kitchens don't make sense in CO. it can potentially snow 9 months out of the year here.

your proposal is invalid (if you're in CO).

Only a pansy would say this. I grill in the snow. How else will I have perfectly grilled burgers year round??

ha! of course you can grill year-round in Englewood. you're practically at sea level in Englewood!

(disclaimer for mods and overzealous, angry newbs... this response is made in jest! it's HUMOR!!)

Best grilling I've ever done was during the blizzard of 2002!!! Or was it 2003....? You know the one.. that shut the city down and collapsed roofs?? Yeah, in the snow to my hips, coat soaked through, spatula in hand, like a boss. Nothing tastes as delicious as food you have to work for!

look what you can do with that beauty, why would anyone say no to the, its perfect for arty hosting, which most women like to do from what i hear anyways
  • That outdoor kitchen is awesome!!! Grilling food is healthier for you than frying it. Last year our grill broke (it was only 14 years old and I use it about 5x a week) so we went without for about a month and a half. Our anniversary came around and my husband informed me that he was getting a shared gift....not to get him a gift in exchange. He got me that awesome grill and a prep table! I looked at him and said, "You don't grill....how is this our gift." He tells me that he gets to enjoy the wonderful food that comes off of it so he is getting a gift 5x a week!! You gotta love a guy who enjoys home cooked meals....;)

    *drools*

If only I had the yard and the money for that!

And I grew up in Wisconsin, lots of cold, snow, rain, freezing rain etc and we still used the grill all year. Snow is not an excuse to abandon grill.

EAXCTLY, us Wisconsin people grill all year round. We also take our TV's outside and watch the superbowl during Winter. We Brave it all!!

    Benefits to grilling:
-- Excess fats drip off meats and cook away leaving less fat in the food itself

-- Vegetables retain more vitamins and minerals

-- The high heat from the grill seals in moisture and keeps food tender so there’s no need to add oil or butter in the cooking process and you’re less likely to add more sauces or other condiments – thereby reducing calories

-- Meats retain more riboflavin and thiamine which are essential vitamins

And the biggest benefit to getting this grill, it's friggin' awesome!

    Get it! :drinker:

Ok.. now are you really going to use it? Or is this one of those guy things, where i buy something for "us", in hopes that she will actually be the one using it?
    I know this trick...

well, I should elaborate that I'm doing the stone work and she works for a marble/granite mfg company. So, mine would only be 1/2 to 3/4 of the size of pic and minus the dishwasher which seems pointless. :)

I live in Arkansas and spring, summer, early fall....I grill 3-5 times a week
Whooo-Pig-Sooieeeeee I used to grill year round when I lived down there....like you said, 3-5 times a week.

You NEED a grill like this!!

Grilling is better for you than frying.
Grilling makes veggies taste better (so you are inclined to eat more of them)
The cost for you is 1/3 of what it would cost anyone else to make it.
You got to try a rotisserie turkey for Thanksgiving!!!

Note to wife: There are so many worse things he could throw his money away on. At least this one keeps him at home instead off somewhere.

If you need to build a test version to try out your design and feel like seeing the beautiful Pacific NW...I'm just sayin'...
