    Presently unemployed.

    How did I come to have such and awesome career? Well I was working as an assistant teacher in special education, making less than $900.00 a month and living with my parents while I went to school. I had an overweight child who weighed close to 200 lbs (10 years old) attack me and the administration told me to "deal with it".

    So I went to my class that night (geology) and was crying to my lab partner that I needed a job. She told me her boss was hiring and I went in for an interview two days later...got the job...went back to the school and promptly resigned.

    It's been 9 years and countless job title add ons...and promotions...and I am still here.

    Actual Job - AV Technician for a school

    Dream Job - Wedding videographer who owns a business all across Canada.

    Currently own my own wedding video business, have contracted videographers out a few times. Really hoping I can do more. Looking into slowing it down this year and get some schooling in, and work is giving us a ton of training. I'm on the way up!

    Clearly I don't know what I want to do when I "grow up". I'm about to go back to school.

    Actual Job: None. I go to school full-time in a 2-year Kanien'kéha language program. I very OCCASIONALLY get photography jobs for birthdays or family reunions.

    Dream Job(s):
    (1) Join the Peace Corps and volunteer abroad. (Modest pay, but I love travel, helping & making a difference in the world!)
    (2) Work in a daycare as a Kanien'kéha language teacher (My native language is endangered)
    (3) Work in a daycare with children who have special needs
    (4) Sports photographer!

    I've pretty much got my feet wet in all those areas, I just need to take the next step to make it official or permanent.

    It seems like lots of people get stuck in desk jobs like customer service, office management, data/file organization, or feel like a puppet for corporate companies they don't really believe in. And then their dream jobs are completely different! Photography, professional cook, writers, travel blogger, event organizer, fun stuff. I always thought peopke who got stuck in the office punching in numbers & data just really liked math. I didn't know you want to be the same things I do!

    - Person who sucks at math and science, but has talenr in many of the "softer, artsier, lower-paying career fields."

    My actual job - Realtor's assistant by day, cashier by night.
    My dream job - Writer.

    I realized the writer dream was just that. A dream. Everyone wants to be a writer. Everyone is writing. The chances of me succeeding at that are NIL. So I gave up and I focused on just making money instead of worrying about doing what I love.

    I worked in a funeral home before we moved the summer before last and it was amazing. I loved every. single. second of it.

    Actual job: Rep for the company that distributes Red Baron/Freschetta/Tony's pizza. Got that job because I worked in a grocery store's frozen foods section and became friends with the sales rep at that store. He offered me a job. I like it a lot.
