Workout dvds-How to record calories burned

As a mother of an infant, it is hard for me to to get outside to exercise unless I take my baby along. When I do, it has to be good weather and I mostly walk. So, I tend to do workout dvds at home. How do I record these on my exercise diary? I have no idea what I burn or what to call them. I do Jillian Micheals and 10 minute solution. Maybe an old Tae bo too. :P:P

get a HRM or a bodymedia!0

When I do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred I log it as circuit training. I'm not sure about 10 minute solution. Good luck!0

I use a heart rate monitor and record it under "Circuit training" or "kickboxing" depending on which DVD I do that day.0

i logged what i could ( i think for jillinan 30DS i used circuit training) then when i'd proved to myself i could keep doing it i bought a hrm (polar ft7, amazon has great prices) and it was worth every penny!! much more accurate burns to help with more accurate intake of foods. then learned about BMR and TDEE and things are moving even better now! good luck!!!0

has the calories burned per hour for quite a few dvds, they are based on a 65 kg (143.3 lb) person. Divide the calories into 143.3 to find the calories burned per pound and then multiply that number by your own weight.
remember that these are based per hour.
This is a good estimation, obviously a HRM would be better.0 -
When I started here, at the beginning of the year, I was only doing Leslie Sansone Walk DVDs, with the occasional Jillian Michaels thrown in. For me, there was nothing more exciting than using my heart rate monitor and seeing how many calories I had burned at the end of each workout. It actually made me want to workout more often.
I would highly suggest getting a HRM. I have the Polar FT4 and love it. Not uncomfortable to wear during a workout.0 -
Pretty much all of Jillian Michael's workouts are considered circuit training. I as well do a lot of her workouts and always log it as circuit training! all of her moves are compound moves, working multiple muscles at once with no rest, which def is circuit work As far as the other, I have never done so im not sure. probably either circuit or maybe just log it as general cardio?0
