How often should you weigh yourself?

I weigh most every day. I only record when I have a loss even though I fluctuate day to day. I don't feel bad about it because I know I am at or under my calorie goals. It is whatever you want to do. It only becomes a problem when you obsess about it.0

Weekly ... no more.0

Gotta confess, every day.
Having done the weight loss thing before, I actually do best when I "obsess" and have a daily routine....0 -
First thing every tuesday morning0

I weigh myself daily. Same time every morning. I only record losses, but I'm also kind of a data nerd and it keeps me more keyed in to how my body processes certain foods and when I am retaining water. You have to be okay with seeing the scale go up a few pounds sometimes though. Seeing that tends to make me eat cleaner for the next few days though, so for me its a positive. I have noticed when I don't drink enough water, my weight will fluctuate up a little and when I am hitting the water goals, I have bigger losses. That alone will motivate you to drink more water
Edited to add - when I don't weigh myself, the weight tends to creep back up without me noticing right away. I've done this before, and lifestyle changes and not watching myself closely enough is what got me back in this position.0 -
I had started out weighing myself daily but it would be discouraging to see the fluctuation of a few pounds up then a few pounds down within a day or two. I now weigh in once a week.0

I weigh myself in about once a week on the same day...
I also need to lose about 80 pounds... good luck on your journey!0 -
I do it once a week, otherwise I make myself CRAZY!!!!!
It's normal for weight to change as much as 1-3 lbs per day.
So, I've learned that I have to pick a weigh day (mine are Tuesday's)
I put tape on my bathroom floor so that my scale is always in the same place.
I always get up, use the restroom, and weigh naked right before I get in the shower.
I also had to make a deal with myself to take the first number - and not weight six times in a row. It is what it is!
Good Luck!0 -
I "officially" log my weight every Thursday morning. Now as to getting on the scale...I probably do that 3 times a day. It doesn't bother me. I am 60 pounds less than I was a year ago! Even if the scale says four more pounds since this morning, I am still better off than last January. I still can't believe I have lost this much SO EASILY!0

In the past I weighed myself every day. This time I am trying to do things a little differently and one of them is to weigh myself once a week. I think it is mostly a personal preference.
How well can you handle it if you gain weight?
How much motivation do you need?
Are you a numbers person and need constant feedback?0 -
In my humble opinion, if you check your bank account everyday, you should check your weight everyday. Some people get discouraged when they look at their bank account, but you still have to check and make sure everything is as it should be. Some people get discouraged when they check their weight everyday, but you still have to do it.0

Thank you for all the feedback. I am going to try the once a week approach. I think it suits me best. As long as I am working out and eating right and staying under my calorie goal for the day, I think once a week is adequate.0

I weigh on the same day of the week at the same time of day wearing the same clothing. I also go to Curves and they weigh and measure once a month but I always have to do that in the evening and I've found I weigh less in the morning. Now I'm doing Curves Complete and so now I weigh at Curves once a week but I still weigh at home too.0

I weigh almost daily. Here is why. I used to go in to get weighed weekly or monthly. This made it too tempting to slack off early in the week and starve myself later in the week so I could be sure to have a loss... Weiging myself daily keeps me accountable every day.0

Generally every day I wake up after I pee, in the nude.0

I do it a few times a week, mainly because I find it literally depends on what you have to eat the day before and particularly with women, what part of the month. If I did it once a week I believe I would think im putting on loads if it went up, so I like to average out a bit but dont get too stressed when it goes up minimal amounts, its normally water weight!0

Awesome weight loss! I have 60 pounds to lose and in 2 weeks I have only lost 5 pounds.0

It used to be several times per week, but I only record once - first thing Friday morning. Now my scale is hidden in the closet so I'm not tempted to hop on it more often. I also track and record my measurements on a monthly basis. That helps me stay motivated even if the scale isn't moving.0

I weigh everyday, but I do not let myself get discouraged by the number on the scale.0
