They mean "ravish". Hurricane Sandy ravaged New York. That said, "ravish" is quite a forceful act, similar to rape.In semi-modern times, it does mean a very passionate act, though. I say "semi-modern" because nobody uses "ravish" these days - hence it's easily confused with "ravage". :bigsmile:
