Is not having a tattoo as rebellious as having one now?

When the topics of tattoos comes up, I like to say I'm "pure". And most people who know me laugh!! This didn't answer your question at all, but seemed relevant. Maybe not...0

I see no reason to put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari.:glasses:0

Who gets tattoos to be rebellious besides 17 year old girls?0

Beats me0

nah I don't think so. It's personal preference.
My knowledge that they look kickaSS on other people, but I'd look like a fool that was trying too hard..... well that doesn't make a rebel.0 -
Having one now is not rebellious, so no.
Unless it's a zombie face tattoo.
Hey, don't judge! Zombie face tattoo people need jobs too.0 -
Neither is rebellious, but maybe dangling a hedgehog precariously over a sink of boiling water/acid (delete as your imagination allows) is.0

Squeeeeee! SO cute!
My family have seen/see my tattoos as rebellions, but I've been getting tattooed for the last 12 years so it is a pretty long phase..... I think as it is more mainstream/acceptable it seems less rebellious. But to those who hate 'em those of us with them are still evil skanky hosebeasts *shrug*0 -

17 year old girls with daddy issues thinks the world revolves around them. lol
Seriously, how many people really get tattoos to be rebellious? Is this 1950?0 -
Wow, you're so much of a wuss that you can't decide on a permanent modification of your body?
You rebel...

Maybe not yet, but it will become a form of rebellion. The generation that has come of age in the past 10 years or so loves tattoos and piercings, and the trend probably began as a form of rebellion. Give it another 10 years and the next generation will see tattoos and piercings as something "old people" have, and the fashion will change again. That's the problem I have with tattoos - fashions change, but the ink is forever.0

I went to art school. I was a total rebel without tattoos, dyed black hair, or thick black rimmed glasses.
My ear gauges helped me fit in, though, so I wasn't a complete art school reject.0 -
Not really. I don't think having a tattoo is rebellious either.0

Piercings and tattoos do date a person. You can tell what decade they were 17 in by the work they've had done. I've got my tongue pierced, but no tramp stamp. Yep, i'm 30.0

Via my status the other day........Someone asked me why I don't have tattoos....so I asked them if they'd ever seen a Ferrari with bumper stickers?0

O to the capital W with a side of N plus a large order of E with a D for dessert!0 -

I loved my tattoo at first. I got it with some people I thought would be in my life forever. But inevitably they ripped my heart out and had a nice time stomping on it. Now it's only a reminder of the pain they caused and how I will never be able to trust anyone ever again. As soon as I have a full time job and cash coming in again, I'm getting my little mistake removed.
I didnt get it to be rebellous, I have nothing to rebel against, I got it because at the time I loved tattoos.0 -
Awwwwwww0 -
I don't think it matters either way.... I have tattoo's but only because I'm personally into them. I could care less what others have or don't have. :frown:0

Not rebellious. But I hear a lot of zero tatt snobbery. Congrats. You have no ink. You must be superior.0

I've had ladies here at work pressure me into getting tattoos. I can't think of anyone who doesn't have one here (no joke, we have a locker room and everyone has at least two). I didn't get this much pressure in HS for smoking or drug use -- go figure!
Anyway, I'd be afraid to get one because I don't like pain that much. I'm sure lots will say it's not painful. And it may not be, but I don't want to find out.0 -
Do you even know what the word rebel means? What a stupid question.0

Good job I've never cared about fashion then!0 -

There is some small amount of that, but it doesn't come anywhere remotely close to the "tats are so awesome!" crowd.
I don't see the point of either, honestly. It's a picture on skin. It takes no effort to have one, or not have one, just a few bucks. Brag about an accomplishment worth doing.0
