Today is my first day. I usually try things and give up. I join groups and do not share. I realize that I need to do things differently to succeed this time. My friend told me about myfitnessplan. She is excited and really likes this program so......I trust her and here I go! LOL
I am not good at these online postings but I am committed to doing better.
Thanks.

So if that's more than you want you may not like me. I love the support I get from my friends and losing weight and getting healthy can be lonely daunting task but this is making it so much easier.0

Welcome!
It's a big step you've taken and I find that this regime is the best I've ever done. You name it, I've done it. The people here are so informative and supportive.
The good thing about using MFP, is you are responsible for yourself. If you have a bad day, so what. You didn't gain all of your weight overnight. If you have a special occassion, enjoy yourself. You can ALWAYS wake up the next day and have a fresh new start. None of this 'if you eat such and such, you'll gain 2lbs so stop yourself from having it' which is advise I had from one weight loss scheme that I tried.
On MFP, NOTHING is banned. It's up to you how you make up your calories, and in time you'll find yourself making much healthier choices. It'll be hard at first, but then what isn't that's worth doing.
What I feel is the most important advise to start -GET A DIGITAL SCALE AND WEIGH, WEIGH, WEIGH! You'll be amazed at the recommened portion sizes of food that you eat. It may not seem enough, and you may laugh at the unbelievability of the size, but you will get used to it and soon, a proper portion size may actually be too much (yes, it does happen).
You're in for a long journey, but you've got loads of support and friends along the 'weigh'
Kim xx
PS feel free to add me as a friend if you wish0 -
Good luck! You can do it! I browse through the success threads on the community boards every day to motivate myself...it really helps me stick with it.0

The sharing is the most important part. You will find so much support on here. Add me as a friend if you like.0

I'm not a huge sharer either but it's so much easier to do it in writing than face to face in a room full of strangers. Even though I have only been on MFP for about 3 weeks I don't know how I lived without it. I absolutely love it and find that even if I don't post a ton I do like to read what others have said and take their advice. You don't have to share your life story for this site to work for you. Share only what you are comfortable with.
Good luck on your journey!0 -

Welcome, & good luck!!! I have been on this site for 3 months & it's GREAT!!!! Feel free to add me..:flowerforyou: And we can continue are journey together.0

My advice:
This group is great for support and for logging stuff in.
DO NOT follow the calorie limit MFP posts for you. There are forums that tell you how to calculate this correctly.
Best wishes!0 -
Welcome luv!!!!!!!!!! You can do it. Nothing beats a failure but a TRY! There are lots of positive motivating people on here.0

Do not be afraid.0

Welcome! I am also like you and actually joined about a year ago but started using the app/website August 2012. It has made me super accountable about everything I eat, so even if I do decide to eat that delicious piece of cake I am aware of how much I eat and make sure I log everything. I will send you a friend request. I am super excited for you to become a part of this community. Remember that we are all here for you and especially when you feel down and out about things. I hope you stick with this because it truly works.
Thanks for sharing!0 -
Feel free to add me. You can do it!0

Welcome to MFP. I wish you the very best in your journey. Remember...you haven't failed as long as you don't quit trying.0
