Runners Look Younger?

(sorry, title should say "age more slowly")
I don't doubt that runners look younger. Not sure about aging slowly, though. I think people who exercise regularly often appear more youthful. This image posits that it's a fact about this hormone, but I don't know what hormone that is... The injection people put in their faces is Botox, which is botulism - not a hormone, but maybe people are putting some other thing in their faces. Anyone able to shed some light? Or is this mostly Bro-Science at work?

I've heard of people injecting growth hormones, I believe for muscle growth/energy, but not into their faces. I can't say if that's true or not.

I can say that my mom started running when she was 25, and she still does now at 60, and although she has lines on her face and some grey in her hair, she looks very fit and energetic for her age. I saw a picture of her next to a friend she grew up with (who probably did an average to not-so-great job of taking care of herself) and they looked 15-20 years apart.
  • i believe its bro-science

derma-fillers and hormone replacement therapy are two different things with different results, and usually done for different reasons. Derma fillers are used to plump up parts of the face that lose collagen and fat as we age. Botox paralyzes muscles. Hormones do a whole host of things, but as far as I know don't get injected into your face. But I could be wrong, I'm not a doctor.
