Ok this post is not just for black women, but I think those are the women that can relate and answer my question. But any and all women feel free to respond if you think you have a proper solution.

When I workout I sweat soooo bad and my hair is wet for the rest of the day pretty much. I have a good length of hair and it is THICK!!! To wash my hair is a 4 hour event. From washing, combing put, conditioning, combing out AGAIN, blow drying COMBING OUT, flat ironing and wrapping.. 4 hours! And god forbid if I add a rinse in there.. :grumble: :grumble:

A 4 hour event is not likely on a daily basis but by the middle of the week my hair smells like baby throw up and doritos :embarassed: I have tried using oils and sprays that smell good but it doesnt work.

So please tell me if you have the same issue and what you do to solve it. I hate washing my hair takes to much time but I cant stand myself by the end of the week.

For those people the are not of the black heritage it is not a good idea for us to wash our hair daily because it drys out and breaks. So washing everyday is not the answer:frown:

I'm natural but wear wigs, when working out I take it off because I sweat so bad I dont want to mess them up ( it takes about a hour to make but last for months) I co wash and put oil in my hair every 2 days and wash my hair once a week (which take about 2 hours). Yes it does smell (sometimes) and sometimes it has a dirty feeling to it,

Try co washing instead of shampoo and conditioning so much which can dry out your hair

Hi, it is true that shampooing daily can dry out your locks, and it is smelly after a few days. However after a few days of working out, and having your pores blocked with sweat and oils, and leaving your hair moist this is to be expected. The native Indians had a wash and wear technique that I witnessed in Chennai. They would shampoo their hair, daily, and then take the towel as they bent over and use it to fling the wetness out. They used liquid coconut oil to coat the hair, braid it up in one or two braids and wrap it up neatly. You could also use some of these more modern no-rinse shampoos that are used by NASA and some bed-patients, This is a good option so that you can work out, get the sweat out of your hair and keep it moving. Then you can do your hair once a week. They have a product by Bed-Head that is used to clean your hair also to remove mouse and hair-styling product and restore it and give you another day or so of freshness. An old school product was called Hair-Septic, it is used to clean the hair of oils, and smells and then you can re-oil and get another day or so..they actually used it for bed patients back in the day...What ever you do, don't stop working out!
