Go to a coffee shop.0

You should get together at someone's house to watch Fight Club....then have lots to drink, eat some tacos, eat 24 of the most delciious devil's food cupcakes ever and never watch the movie.0

I like this one. If you want to go out, Applebees has 1/2 price appetizers and drink specials every night after 8. Our mom's group goes about once a month and I can usually go for less than $10, tip included.0 -

Good suggestion. Trying to get away from dinner and drinks or a day of shopping, which both can get expensive.0 -

Have each person buy a bottle of wine and a snack and just hang at someone's house. Maybe I'm showing my age, but I have found that these Girls Nights IN end up being more fun than going out.0

I like the idea of getting together at someone's house, but most of my friends have kids and its just not the same when the kiddos are be-bopping around.
$10 for a night at Applebees is a plus!! Gotta like that, plus sharing appetizers means I am not hogging out on a $13.00 entree not including drink and tip. Thanks0 -

I hear ya! Going to a bar for drinks just is not that appealing anymore. Too expensive, too loud, and always end up staying out later than I intended.0 -

I love this too. It's the bestest.
You can always find alternative things to do besides get drunk and dance/eat bad food, too - go for a hike and then have a picnic at the summit, take a pole-dancing class, buy some watercolors and cheap canvases and go to a park to paint in the sun... basically just do stuff you don't normally do with the company of people you enjoy.0 -

I have been to one of those, and it was fun, but ultimately I ened up with expensive gadgets that just dont ever get used and after a few years wind up in the garbage. (I know, sad) lol0 -

This is why you hire a highschool student or two to keep the kids occupied in another part of the house. Seriously if you spend say 3 hours having a girls night in, that's like $20-30 for those who have kids to split.0 -

Well my husband can watch after the kids, problem is that my kids are too excited to go to bed when there is company over and they want to get right in the mix of things. Maybe I will have to sneak my guests in and hide out in the basement so the kids wont know we are there!! lol0 -

I dont think any of them would be into it.0 -
My friends and I are big fans of "popcorn and vodka nights" which is pretty self explainatory.
Somebody supplies the popcorn, vodka and we eat drink and watch scary movies.
I have more fun doing that than going out.0 -

Then you need new friends!
I keed, I keed, but seriously - you'd be surprised how many people will try something new if EVERYONE is trying something new.0 -
Most all of my friends have those patio firepits or have made their own in their back yard. When the weather isn't too hot or too cold we have a night in at someones house and build a fire. Everyone brings a chair, their own beverage and a snack to share and we sit around the fire, relax, and talk about everyone else. :laugh:0
