    I got up to week 6 of 5x5 before I injured my thumb in a cookie jar incident and as I'm unable to use my hand I cant lift any weights :laugh: so annoying, but so far while I havent noticed much difference in my body (other than slightly more definition on my arms) I have had some good gains with strength. My rows are the worst, I stalled and ended up deloading on them and I had just stalled on my OH press too. I'll get back onto 5x5 once I can carry weight in my hand again, hopefully it's not too long because I'm getting antsy not being able to do it.

    Squat: 20kg (44lb) - 46kg (101lb)
    Deadlift: 40kg (88lb)- 70kg (155lb)
    Bench: 20kg (44lb) - 34kg (75lb)
    OH press: 20kg (44lb) - 30kg (66lb)
    Row: 30kg (66lb) - 38kg (84lb)

    Been doing SL 5x5 for about 8 weeks now. Lost 11 lbs and definitely can see a change in my body so far. Very happy with the results. I dont feel like I'm quite close to maxing out yet, but we'll see how that is in 4 weeks ill probably continue with SL until I cant anymore. I also do about an hour of cardio on off days.

    Chest Press 45 lbs-- 100 lbs
    OHP 45 lbs--90 lbs
    Squats 45 lbs -- 140 lbs
    Deadlifts 95 lbs -- 195 lbs
    Rows 65 lbs -- 110 lbs

    After 8 weeks

    I LOVE HEAVY WEIGHTS! Lost a lot of weight. Down to 115 at one point. Started weight training, now 122. 18% BF! Love it! I Love the feeling of the burn soooo much! can currently squat 140lbs. Even linear press near 400lbs! The results are great.

    I don't have any after pictures but I'm on my 11th week of 5x5. I've never been stronger.

    Bench-100lbs to 175lbs
    Squat- 135lbs to 230lbs
    OHP- 60lbs to 100lbs
    Row- 80lbs to 165lbs

    Unable to do deadlifts due to it making my arthritis flare up.

    I've seen her pics before, but there's not much change :/ She probably increased her strength a lot though!

    Here's my end of 12 weeks post. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/820899-12-weeks-of-stronglifts-still-a-woman-lotsa-pics

    I didn't have much change to my body... but I'd been lifting over a year by the time I started it. A better show of progress and what weight lifting does would be these photos, after weight loss, then after lifting 1 year with machines, then after 4 months of free weights.

    IMG_1293-copy.jpg

    IMG_1288-copy.jpg

    IMG_1297-copy.jpg

    Also, I kept upping my calories during SL, and took a few weeks from logging, because I was starting to feel too thin for my own personal tastes. So there would have been more change IF I'd wanted more change. I'm 40, and when my BF starts getting any lower than it is now, my face looks worse. I'd rather have a more youthful face than a 6 pack. :wink:

    Before lifting, but after losing all the weight I wanted to lose:
    03-21-2012frontback.jpg

    This is my progress after about 15 SL workouts not done consistently but over the past 2-3 months. Now I'm doing it consistently tho and that's the bottom ones, those are most recent. These are all after I did 5 months of NROLFW.

    I'm not super buff yet but I'm working on it :) It's not easy to tell but I've lost inches everywhere since the before shot, even tho I'm the same weight. Also I can lift much heavier!! This is what I had goin for me last workout -- all new PRs!

    Feb to July was Stronglifts:

    http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b12/rachel6503/Graphic2_zpsab57d7ab.jpg

    I ate around maintenance, if not more, so there wasn't a whole lot of visual change.

    Squats went from 95lbs to 125lbs.
    Bench from 65lbs to 95lbs.
    Pendlay from 45lbs to 85lbs.
    OHP from 45lbs to 70lbs.

    Sorry it's so tiny, I grabbed it off of my profile. November 2011 on the right, September 2012 on the left.

    I'd cycle between eating maintenance for a couple of weeks and thene ating at a deficit for a couple of weeks, getting about 130+ grams of protein daily.

    Squats from 145 lbs to 200 lbs (now 215)
    Deadlifts from 155 lbs to 210 lbs (now 235)
    Bench from 70 lbs to 95 lbs (now 105)
    OHP from 50 lbs to 70 lbs (now 80)

    My change is from lifting and not just stronglifts. There is also 2 years in between both picture. Sorry not full body transformation in 6 weeks or something ludicrous like it. I also gave birth to 6 kids...this is why my picture don't show my arms muscles lol. I have nice arms but it is my belly and *kitten* that I am obsessing about.

    I have been doing stronglifts for about a month i think... I've lost an inch pretty much everywhere.. But it might also be from eating reeeaaallly healthy.. Oh and i've lost 3 pounds since then, ha.

    I don't really know what weights i started with, but as of now...
    squat - 110
    bench - 80
    OHP - 60 or 65... i dont remember
    DL - 135
    barbell row - i think i did 80 today...

    I love the program though.. looking forward to the results!

    As for protein powder.. I just bought GNC's Wheybolic (i think it's called like wheybolic extreme 60?? Something like that, lol) AND IT IS THE BEST FREAKING PROTEIN POWDER I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I strongly recomend this! I have vanilla and chocolate and they are both sooooooo good.. But the vanilla is my favorite so far... YUM!

    I'm starting week 4 of strong lifts, but so far I haven't seen my measurements or scale budge at all (I know I should expect to gain muscle weight eventually, or trade some fat in for muscle). I know I probably just have to be patient, but I was wonder if some of you could help keep me motivated with your success stories!

    I'm having the same problem and I'm going to finish week 4 tomorrow. I've actually seen a gain though : /

    It took me 3-4 months to see significant body changes from lifting. You really have to stick with it and you will be glad you did.

    I'm so excited for you on your progress!! I need to start pushing myself more for my arm lifts, my squats have inreased like crazy but I'm at the same place as you for arms even though I've been lifting longer!

    Me:
    Squats 95---> 150 lbs
    OHP 45 ---> 60
    Bench 55 ----> 80
    Dead 95 ----> 120
    Barbell Row 70

    (I'm the OP)

    My progress so far:

    photo-18.jpg
    May 2012. Started at 144lbs of "skinny fat" (Some muscle, more body fat). Ate 1500 cal/day. Was a cardio bunny (Lots of kickboxing, rollerblading, biking, running, etc). I had good cardio but no body to show for it.

    photo-19.jpg
    Dec 2012. Lost 8lbs, getting me down to 136lbs by cutting bread/cereal/pasta & experimenting with light barbells. I did a mix of bodyweight exercises, explosive cardio & some lifting. I ate 1500-1700 cal/day. This is a very flattering photo, and I was happy my waist got smaller- but I was still not satisfied because I was just "less skinny-fat." My body was still very soft, flabby & my stomach looked super mooshy & dimply in daylight.

    image.jpg
    March 2014. Gained 11lbs, bulking up to 148lbs (Bulking, meaning I purposely ate more/upped protein and was into my 8th week of Strong Lifts 5x5 to put on muscle weight). Ate 2200-2400 cal/day. It is unevitable to gain some fat during the bulking process (I gain in my mid-section, as you can see). Although I am 4lbs heavier in here than in photo #1, my waist is smaller and I look a lot leaner and less mooshy! When I flex, my arms actually feel like rock now! And you can see in here, my abs are already showing a bit under my fat. Those cuts in my hips are new, muffin top used to be there (But I was hiding it with my hands in photo #1)

    SL 5x5 progress:
    (175lbs) Deadlift (Started at 115)
    (135lbs) Barbell Squat (SW at 55)
    (85lbs) Barbell Row (SW at 65)
    (80lbs) Barbell Overhead (SW at 55)
    (75lbs) Bench Press (SW 55)

    NEXT STEP: As of Monday, I felt I gained enough muscle and would enter the "cutting" phase (Reducing calories slowly, adding in cardio & continuing Strong Lifts). The hope is to fry off the bit of fat covering my muscles to reveal a sexy toned midsection! :)
