Starvation mode...

REALLY REALLY don't want to beat a dead horse here but I have a few genuine questions.
While i'm well-aware that I shouldn't net below 1200 calories, I have a hard time logging my exercises on here because the calories just seem extremely off to me. My treadmill is even worse (doesn't actually offer any reliable information). And I can't afford a heart rate monitor at the moment.
Usually, I just eat until i'm full and log my calorie limit in the notes for the day so it doesn't look like I was under or over. I don't feel tired, or sluggish, and i'm not plateauing. But I just started eating this way again towards the beginning of this month.
I'm also aware that 1200 calories isn't some "magical number" SO, is it okay to eat the way i'm eating (you can check out my diary) while exercising as long as I feel fueled and not hungry?

I guess it depends on the exercise you're doing, what type and how often... but to me it seems like you're net is around 1200 and you're not getting there, at least on the past week or so.. If you're exercising and only eating 1200 cls it's likely that you're eating below your bmr, You need to eat somewhere between bmr and tdee (bmr is the calories you would consume if you were in a coma, tdee the total calories you consume in a day including workouts) so i would say check those numbers up and up the calorie intake conviniently0

You should be eating between your BMR and your TDEE for weight loss. Key word is EAT, your body gets first dibs on any nutrition you take in so the whole eating back exercise thing is purely at your discretion. Seems most people view exercise as a way to gain more food rather than as a key to fitness. So eat a nutritious diet over your BMR number and be happy!0

My BMR is 1640 and my TDEE is about 2500. Am I really supposed to be eating that much in a day? O_O0

Eat between those two, so 20% off the 2500 would be 2000, eat 2000 a day to lose 1 pound a week. And yes. You should be eating that much.0 -
1. There's no such thing as "starvation mode"
2. MFP calorie burn estimations are inaccurate
3. You should eat more0 -
Are you a vegetarian?0
