Sorry to derail but how do you calculate your weekly? Is it with our without the exercise calories?
    Thank you.

I go by weekly. But that's because I fast 1 to 2 days a week and the math is easier to go weekly.
  • How do you find it out on here ? :)

I'm over on both today so it makes no difference this week :)

I tend to eat lighter during the working week and make up for it at the weekend.

If I'm really short for the week then I make sure I eat up on Sunday to keep the body guessing, that's my theory anyway ...

Some days I'm hungrier than others and I try to listen to body first rather than aim for a number. It's a long term thing, if the trend is down then the occasional day of higher consumption isn't a problem for me, I see them as beneficial, in fact. The key being occasional ;)

I think weekly only works for the app, but not the website, right?

You should lose weight if you keep within your weekly calories. To make this easier, it is important to monitor your daily calories. If one day you are over by 500 calories, that means sometime later in the week, you need to still lose your daily calories plus the 500. Its just puts more work on a single day. If you are already on a 1,200 cal a day diet, you can't really take away another 500 cals from your food intake. So that means more exercise. I normally monitor both. If I messed up one day, I just make it up another. Though sometimes, I hate having to do that extra 45 min. My big picture is the week total. Its pretty much all the same thing, 3,500 calories for 1 pound loss.

What has helped me is to buy one of those little pocket calenders. Each day I write what my calorie loss was for the day before. In the notes section I have 7,000 (2 pounds in a week) and start to subtract each days amount in a running total. It kinda helps me see where I can go ahead and eat that extra snack or when I really need to kick up my workout. I'm very visual so I need to see it all out at once.
