Anybody have someone in their life who is a hater? You know the type, the ones that say you can't do that, if you reach goal weight you'll be sickly, too thin, etc. If you work out you'll be all bulky, muscle bound, etc. You won't make it anyway, may as well give up, quit now, etc. Don't it just pi$$ you off?

If you have someone in your life that is saying these things to you, you should probably eliminate them from your life. It sounds like they probably aren't very happy with themselves so they don't want you to improve yourself. Don't let anyone keep you from accomplishing your goals.0

Nah I don't have anyone like that, but I have a lot of people in my life who always tempt me with unhealthy food when they know that I'm trying to lose weight0

When you lose weight you change the status quo in your relationships, and this is hard for some people to deal with. They look back at themselves, and find it very confronting and even see it as a challenge.
Maybe you're doing what they don't have the strength to do, or maybe they're used to you being the "fat friend" that makes them look better. Deep down they know this will change and it's unsettling.0 -
I don't necessarily have "haters", but one of my friends like to use my positive achievements as a chance to be negative towards herself. For instance, I've lost ten pounds and look significantly thinner. Whenever she sees me now, it's, "Oh my gosh, you're so thin! I'm so fat. I have so much weight to lose. I just get so upset about my weight. Skinny girls make me feel bad about myself." It makes me feel like crap for losing weight in the first place, when I should feel proud of myself.0

yep:
'you can't lose weight, you have hypothyroid disorder' - already proved that one wrong
'you shouldn't be a teacher, your health won't cope' - going into my 9th year - and the health thing got sorted once they diagnosed the hypothyroid
'why are you so negative about your dad? he might get better!' - nope, he has terminal cancer and we've simply accepted it
the 'can't, won't. why aren't you...' brigade can run you mental if you let them....0 -
They see me rollin. They hatin. Patrollin. Trying to catch me ridin dirty.0

I don't really have a "hater" exactly. But when it comes up in conversation that I'm trying to lose 5 more pounds, my mom says that I will look too skinny and boney. She is always commenting on what I eat and asking how much I weigh now. It really gets to me, especially because I have been working so hard.0

The longer I watch this the more it freaks me out.0 -
possibly, not too much about my weight, always with my job though, very competitive industry0

what the heck do they feed that child, and uhm, what is she doing?0
-
in any case those people who hate on you, really have nothing better to do with their time but be jealous, keep on truckin'0
-
I wish I had haters so I could prove them wrong. :P0

THESE PEOPLE. Sneaky sabotage people. Man, this aggravates me. I also have one friend who always says, no matter how much weight I've gained, "No, you haven't gained anything, you still look skinny." I know this friend is lying to be nice, but it doesn't help me. Sometimes I just need to rant about how hard losing weight is without judgement or (even well-meaning) dishonesty -- or someone offering me a cookie :grumble:0 -
Dear god, why???? :sick:0 -

My sister recently brought me a HUGE box of chocolates for my birthday and was then got moody when I said thanks but no thanks. "What? You can't eat chocolate?" :noway:0 -
YES
A dude I was, up until a few days ago dating, actually.
He definitely made me feel very ordinary, and he is an extremely discouraging person. I am starting a new job tomorrow, and he basically told me how it's 'over rated'.
Hey buddy, just because you're unhappy in your job, doesn't mean everyone else is.
In terns of weight loss, my ex used to ***** about how thin I was all the time. He would tell me off for going to the gym 5-6 days a week. He would be like, "omg just stop". I hope he's happy that I gained all the weight back, due to depression over the fact that he cheated on me, and treated me like crap.
F the haters. Live your life. There will always be *kitten* around, but it's you can choose not to have them in your personal life.
These people definitely do teach you that you deserve to be happy, and deserve to find people who will support you in every way0
