Elliptical CC vs bodymedia

I use an elliptical at my gym that lets me enter weight and built in HRM. Usually it's counter tells me I burn about 300 calories in a 1/2hr. I just got a bodymedia to try out and told me I burned around 80 calories less.

I know most machines are *for lack of better words* winging it based on a general calculation especially since we all burn differently.

I'm really iffy on bodymedia if it actually works correctly and can actually measure what I'm really burning.

Which should I take as the reading?
