If you're really interested in cross fit, why wait? Most cross fit places have on-boarding classes where you learn the basics - you could start to work some of those into your schedule. Views about cross fit are mixed on here, but I think everyone would agree that you would benefit from investing time to learn proper form (and heck, shop around a bit... not all cross fit gyms are created equally).0 -

I started with walking, then I added in the stairmaster. I would incorporate the elliptical at times and I lost my first 20 pounds pretty quick. After that it became a little harder, so I added in other classes like Zumba and Step. When I really started noticing lots of change was adding in 2 Body Pump classes a week. Strength training is awesome to have and helps to tone. It doesn't bulk you up, it gives you a more lean look. I also was running that was just great cardio. You can do resistance bands to work on the upper body as well.0
