I use Splenda in my coffee every day. I tried using Stevia thinking it was more "natural" but my tastebuds like Splenda better. I am still losing too. I have friends who cannot use artificial sweetners for various reasons, one of them being no weight loss but I am fortunate that I can still enjoy my coffee and lose weight.0

Has anyone found they still lose weight while having artificial sweetener in their drinks?
Yes, because they are slowly dying inside from the poison0 -
Yes, but I'm sure you will find many who claim that it cannot be done. I drink diet soda every day.

Yep, I use splenda every day and I've lost weight just fine.0

if with artificial sweetners or diet sodas etc you're still under a calorie deficit, you can lose weight
Cheers, I am drinking a sugar free 7 up and had strawberry ice cream with real sugar!0 -
Yes, if the artificial sweetener is helping you create calorie deficit.
However, if you use pure sugar and are at a calorie deficit you will probably lose weight, too.0 -
Dont use artificial sweeteners - use natural sources - like stevia0
-
Yep. Every day.
There's another thread going right now that says they'll kill you. Literally. And give you MS and cancer and a host of other diseases. They have no facts or evidence to back up that claim. But that's how they "feel". So it's "true for them."
Please don't fall for such nonsense.0 -
Yup. See ticker.

Yep ... my love of coffee and making my own flavored yogurt with non-fat plain greek yogurt, fresh berries and Splenda are apparently causing me to die a very slow Splenda death ( :noway: ) ... but my love of Splenda didn't hinder my weightloss a single bit! :drinker:0

I use it from time to time. It is healthier to avoid it... because of health, not necessarily because of weight loss. I've heard a lot of people say you can't lose weight with artificial sweetners or diet soda... my mother lost 140 pounds drinking diet soda the entire time.0

What's your reasoning behind your statement besides all the crap articles posted online that don't prove it's bad for us? There has yet to be something I Have seen that shows real proof that they are bad for consumption.
To the OP, they are calorie free and therefore will not make you gain weight. They are totally fine to consume as long as you have no issues with them (some people get migraines, bloating, etc). As long as you are under your TDEE you will lose weight.
Natural sources don't always mean healthy... although I like stevia I don't want to spend the money on it.0 -
When John Wayne died, they pulled 30 pounds of artificial sweeteners from his colon that had accumulated during the years. I saw it on Entertainment Tonight once.0

Ohhhh for .....acck! Just posted this elsewhere.
http://www.rationalskepticism.org/general-debunking/aspartame-t31565-100.html
This is the 6th of 6 pages, read back if you'd like.Ah, but it just MIGHT be harmful, if you ingest 400 cans of artificially sweetened soda, 500 "no sugar added" cupcakes and chew 14,245 sticks of aspartame laced gum a day.
It's probably a Pleiadean plot to dry up our vital bodily fluids.
*I don't drink them, never did...but it won't hurt you.0 -
Dont use artificial sweeteners - use natural sources - like stevia
Why?
Because they are nothing but poison - why would you want to put that into your body????0 -

OP - the answer is Yes.0 -
has anyone even brought up the fact that they are CHEMI-KILLZ?!0

Yes, you can lose weight using artificial sweeteners.
Based on all that I've read, the most natural sweetener available today is Stevia. (Google it.) You can purchase it for your coffee, tea, etc and being adopted by soft drink makers in the USA who are willing to stand up against sugar/corn lobbyists. For now, Google "Zevia" and check them out. SodaStream uses Splenda today but has informed us that they plan to offer Stevia sweetened flavors Spring 2013.
