We can all admit that we fell off a bit in winter. Now that February is almost here, it's time to stop covering up the beer and cookie baby with baggy sweaters and yoga pants.

I'm currently at 140 and would like to get down to 130-132 by the end of March. I'd like some insight on my current plan of attack, and any recommendations by those who have been in my situation.

I have my diary set at 1200, but I normally aim for 1400-600 a day. I'm trying to cut back on my carbs and sugars, and up my protein. I've begun heavy lifting again.

I want to lift 3 times a week, usually for 20-30 minutes. As it gets warmer I'll be able to throw in 20-30 minutes of cardio every day if not more when I can ride my bike to work.

I'd really like to hope that a little less than a pound a week should be attainable if I just start watching what I'm eating again, and keep to working out.

For your answer, yes 1lb a week is very attainable.

Is there a reason it must be done by the end of March, or is it just a target date?
  • I always lose weight quickly when I initially start a diet. My doctor explained to me that it's because the unhealthy diet I eat when I'm not trying to eat healthy packs on a lot of water and fiber, which is lost very quickly on a healthy diet. Once you get to about a pound a week, THAT is when you're actually losing fat. A pound a week is healthy and, in my case, a pretty sustainable goal.

Mainly just a target date. I'm the type of person that needs a set time limit to work towards. I wont be devastated if it doesn't happen. Also my 24th birthday is at the end of March, so I thought it would be a nice present to myself to know that I still have the ability to buckle down, work out, and get back into shape.
