Sodium question!

I've been eating super healthy for the past four weeks--mainly steamed veggies, fresh fruit, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, etc. I've been really conscientious of my sodium intake because I needed to shed some bloat, but someone who gives generally sound nutrition advice says 1,500-2,300 mg is your recommended limit...I wouldn't hesitate to say I haven't cracked 500 mg a day at all should I be getting more sodium??

What is the difference between healthy and super healthy?0

There is no RDA for sodium because the human diet has never lacked it. An adequate amount of sodium for adults is between 250 and 500 mg/day. The Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) for healthy adults is 2300 mg/day. The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends an upper limit of 1500 mg/day for people over 50 and 1200 mg/day for those over 70. The average American adult consumes 4000 mg/day.0

Unless you have a pre-existing medical condition or are being treated for high blood pressure the amount of sodium you take in daily shouldn't be a concern. Just keep it relatively consistent from day to day to avoid excess water retention/bloating.0

plus your body is pretty good at holding on to sodium if you are low - but unless you have Hypertension or some sort of kidney disease I wouldn't worry about it too much0 -

Unless you have a problem with sodium, I don't think it should be a problem.
I have issues with needing more sodium yet I'm unable to get enough which affects the vagus nerve and makes me pass out if I'm not getting enough in.0 -
Never Add Sodium to your Diet! Never! You will get enough without trying...0

Low sodium is good to reduce high blood pressure, water retention, etc. But if you go to low, it can lead to other severe health consequences...fatigue, confusion, seizures, stroke, coma and death. Your body needs sodium to maintain nerve and muscle function. My reading on the subject says the bare minimum requirement is 500mg/day, but I'm not a doctor and I didn't go to medical school and every body is different.0 -

But if a blanket statement.
You realise that every time you sweat a large portion of that I'd sodium which needs to be replenished?0
