Pork is meat, it's a protein, what's bad about it other than possibly under cooking it?

literally up to you. if you eat meat, and you like pork, there's no reason not to. if you have ethical, or health concerns about eating meat in general, that's another story.

I love a pork chop, especially with a fried egg on it. Yummm...

Pork is high in protein, and less expensive than a lot of other meats. More imporatantly, its delicious.

You can find why any food (including water!) is bad for you if you do enough research. My rule: if 1) I have no moral objection to it, 2) I don't have a medical reason for avoiding it, and 3) It fits into my macros -- I eat it!

How can the source of bacon be bad?

    Everything in moderation.

I'd say natural pork is good, overly processed pork products (hot dogs, bacon, etc), not so much. One thing to watch for when you buy pork, at least at Kroger stores, is the cuts that are labelled something like "moist & tasty". They have an added x% flavor enhancing solution which is high sodium content and nasty tasting.

I LOVE a boneless pork loin! I don't find it at all harmful.. only thing is sodium.. Pork can be salty, but moderation is key! Love me some pork!

Pork loin is a fairly lean source of protein, and helps mix it up between chicken and fish.
I have pork every so often. A roast or even a fire grilled chop make a nice dinner. Every so often on a weekend, I'll even have bacon.

Hot dogs and kielbasa are quite a different story though, because they're so processed.

I would think nothing is wrong with pork. As long as you don't over stuff yourself when eating it.

Pork is awesome. Lean cuts are great protein. And who doesn't love bacon?

Having boneless pork chops grilled tonight for dinner, actually!

Pork loin in the crock pot, pork chops baked, all good sources of protein. Don't care for bacon or sausage though. It's a texture thing, just like I don't eat ground anything, turkey, beef, pork. yuck!!

pork anything is healthy for you (unless you eat the sugar-filled sausages). whoever states otherwise is an idiot or a vegan.

Like all meats, try to buy from a local farm, Farmer's market, or from a source that treats the animals humanely. Factory-farmed pork is insanely cruel to the animals and the crap they feed them and inject them with goes to you when you consume them.

Check www.eatwild.com to find local sellers of pastured or humanely raised pork. Or try www.grasslandbeef.com or Www.Grassfedbeef.org. The latter sells pigs raised on pasture and has free shipping.

Buying meats from a local farm supports local farmers and their families, and supports more humane treatment and slaughter of animals. If you buy in bulk, it's often cheaper than buying low-quality meats from the supermarket. Let your dollars support those who give a damn about producing quality food for you.

If you spend more on one cut of pork, let it be bacon or pork belly. For really fatty cuts, you do NOT want to eat from factory-farmed animals, as most of the bad mojo ends up in the fat. Spend more for quality bacon and belly.
