Do any of you have kids in sports? How do you have time to make these dinners? We won't be home tonight until about 9:30PM. Really late to eat and I'm not spending any time cooking at that time either. Normal schedule gets us home between 6:30 and 7PM. I have about 20 minutes to come up with dinner. Help me out!!!0

Moose Roast
Onions, Carrots & Celery
LOL! I'm stuck on the moose. Is it a pretty lean or fatty meat. I would think it would be highly marbled because of the cold. Does it even exsist in the MFP database. What's it taste like?
It is extremely lean, like only one gram of fat for a 6 oz portion. And yes, surprisingly enough it is in the database. Taste is very similar to very lean beef and not at all gamey although I think that can vary depending on where it's from and their diet. Here they subsist mostly on twigs and leaves, and the ones in town take out garden beds on a regular basis too.
Unfortunately, the roast was too lean and ended up very tough despite slow cooking. I've done chuck roasts with good luck, but this one was a hind roast. Any others of those we'll make into jerky instead.0 -
