Hi! I'm wondering at what weight approximately I can hope to stop wearing plus size clothes. Any of you who lost weight can remember their weight when they switched to "Normal" clothes?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I am bottom heavy. I was a 12 pants at 170 maybe. Tops a size or two smaller. I am dying to get back. I am 218 and a tight 18.0

I started at 16 stone 2lbs and was in a UK size 18/20. After dropping 3 and a half stones, I'm in a 14 generally now. Hope that helps!0

Everyone is different of course. I remember when I used to weigh 170 i was a size 8/10. and I think when I was 200 I was a size 12/14?0

About 175.0

I got into a 10 at around 175. I'm currently 169 and size 8/10. I've also got a lot of booty, so I could wear non + on top from 195 pounds.0

Not sure what you mean by plus size (like the size labels at Lane Bryant? Or like regular 12s and 14s?), but for me at 5'7" this is how it's been:
220 lbs - size 16-18
200 lbs - size 14
180 lbs - size 10-12
160 lbs - size 8-10
140 lbs - size 6-8
120 lbs - size 2-4
So I guess it's one size up or down every 20 lbs.0 -
I started at 252lb and was a UK size 22 (although I refused to admit it and squeezed myself into size 20s!).
At around 225, a UK size 20 was a perfect fit.
Now at 209, my UK size 18s are rather loose and I expect I'll be in a size 16 after about another 7lb.
Hope this helps0 -

I was 170 at my heaviest and the largest size pants I ever wore was size 9. I'm 5'7.5"0 -

This is DEAD ON. This is exactly how it played out for me.0 -
around 175 i hit a size 10/11.
Currently teetering from 159-162, size 8/90 -

But it's not all us, it's often the variation in sizes. I'm 167 now, and had to throw out a pair of size 12 jeans this month because they were huge on me...but my two remaining pair are 14 and 10, and they fit the same.0 -
When I was 213, I was in a 14 for skirts/dresses and a 16 for pants. Tops were XL, but loose. I think it's a bit different for everyone. Different brands are also sized differently. (Also, I'm 5'6", so that may also matter.)0

Thanks all!!
Eld2310 For me plus size is over 14, since most stores here do not sell clothes over 14, unless it's a store that advertise the selling of plus size clothing. There aren't a lot of stores like that here.
I went from a size 24 (265lbs) to a 18 (227lbs) so I think your estimate of about 20lbs per size makes sense!!
So I guess around 180-170 i will be able to shop any where
Thanks again!0 -

Maybe it has to do with the fact of being apple or pear shaped? I'm an apple myself.0 -
ALL depends on build and body composition. Sadly I'm in the 'plus sized' category still... but didn't need to leave the 'normal' section until I was around 220/230, because while I still have a lot of excess fat, I have a lot of muscle too so didn't necessarily look like I was as heavy as I was. So if you are pretty muscular, then you might be able to get back into 'normal' clothes sooner than you might think.0

At 91 kgs I was wearing size 18/20 (NZ) depending on the cut, shape and fabric. Currently at 80 kg and declining I am wearing size 14(NZ) trousers but still need a size 16 to meet in the middle around the generously endowed boobs that developed with maturity ( some would say old age :-) )0

I've never been in plus sizes, by biggest size has been a 12 dress size (and smaller pants and stuff), but I can tell you this varies a lot from person to person. I currently weigh around 155 I think (going off the doctor scale cause my home scales tell me differently) and I just fit into my size 4 shorts, but wear like up to an 8 in other things like dresses, and my jeans are 28's (so a 6 I think)
But people my height and weight sometimes where a much bigger size because they are not as in shape, I have a lot of muscle so I weigh more and am smaller in size (still got a ways to go though).0 -
I'm all butt and THICK thighs. I'm currently wearing Old Navy size 12 but can almost snug into my size 10. If I didn't have such a dramatic pear shape I'd be in something smaller. Remember, all pants sizes differ depending on YOUR body.0

I am on a similar path as this, though I don't think I will get that low, my goal is around 150 and a size 8.0 -

this is me NOW... however I have the kangaroo pouch... if I could get rid of that, I could go down a size
example, Im 201 today... I wear a size 14... if I didnt have this pouch, I could fit a size 12... the funny thing is how much my body has changed... Last time I was 150 I also wore a size 12....0
