Getting Baby-Ready and Healthy

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Megan and I am 24 years old. I am working on getting healthy before my husband and I start trying for kids this summer. I have GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) and have been feeling the effects of that lately due to my weight, so it is definitely time to make a change! I went on Nutrisystem (and loved it) back in November 2011 to March 2012 and lost 26 pounds. I felt so proud and good, but after I wed in July, that weight came back to haunt me!
I need some really good motivation to stay on track. Please add me as a friend, and we can help each other reach our goal!

I had lost 40 pounds when SURPRISE! I found out I was pregnant! It wasn't planned, but we were very excited. Unfortunately, I lost the pregnancy (after putting back on 25 pounds, then another 10 due to the depression). We have been trying for 8 months now.
Feel free to add me.
ETA: I'm 27, married for 2 and a half years.0 -
TTC here too!! I got my blood drawn yesterday for day 23 to see if I ovulated!! I told my six year old that I needed to find out if I had laid an egg!

Hi!
I am 25. I have an almost 4 yr old. I weighed 290ish when pregnant with her. I have lost 112lbs in the 18 months I've been on here but I am currently 13 weeks pregnant with baby number 2. I have maintained my weight so far through the pregnancy. I'm about 185 now.
Feel free to ad me!0 -
I'm doing the same thing - I'm 32, and have a 10 year old. I never thought I would WANT another baby after a divorce and miscarriage, but I have hearts in my eyes and my boyfriend doesn't have any children. We aren't trying yet (we will when we get married!).0

Hiya! I am 26 and also suffer with GAD.
and I am also trying to get weight off so My partner and I can have a baby in the future.0 -
I'm hoping that these postive changes will be helpful to all of us TTC! Babydust & good health to all0

Awesome goal! My husband and I also strived to get healthy before our first baby. It was a challenge sometimes but the results were fantastic! I was able to maintain a great workout routine throughout pregnancy, too.
Unfortunately, I suffered from PPD and ended up gaining back weight I had lost so many years before. It was super frustrating. Recently, we have been thinking about adding to our family, so, I'm back on track for becoming the healthiest I can be.
Feel free to add me as a friend. I just wanted to comment and let you know that getting in shape before baby was the best thing I could have done.0 -
Hi everyone! I'm Kayla and I'm trying to get baby ready also. My goal is to lose about 30lbs and create the healthy lifestyle choices that I can carry on after we try for babies (One more year when I turn 25)
Feel free to add me!0 -
I am getting married in July and we plan to try right away, however I want to be at a healthier weight before we start doing that. Although 25-30 lbs would be acceptable, I'm really striving for closer to 50 lbs before I get pregnant. Add me if anyone else is looking for some support!! I think it's great that so many other women are trying to get healthy before baby #loveit0

I am also trying to lose weight so I can conceive...have been TTC for 18 mo+...add me if you'd like!0

My doctor told me that being overweight can make it harder to get pregnant so I've been working to clean up my act
My husband and I will start trying this summer too.
Good luck and feel free to add me too.0 -
So awesome to see so many people in the same boat as me! I'm 24 and have been married for a year and a half. My husband and I aren't really TTC but we aren't trying NOT to either.
My number one goal is not a number on the scale but just to be happy and healthy for my future kids and to be able to set a good example for them regarding eating habits, exercise and self-esteem.
Everyone feel free to add me!0 -
Same here! Not TTC not not TTC :P I do have fears that I will lose all this weight and THEN get pregnant and gain it all back. :P Anyone is always free to add me0

Losing 20-30 lbs of weight gave me two boys in less than 2 years after trying for more than 7 years!.
Funny thing is when I get around 185-190 lbs, I end up pregnant! I am so hoping that doesn't happen this time as I would like to "enjoy it" for a while this time instead of getting big and pregnant again!
Good Luck Mommies-2-be! :flowerforyou:0 -
I've been trying to get healthy for years now....I'm losing inches, and my clothes are getting smaller...but for some reason I can't drop the weight! Frustrating, but I'm trying to look at the bigger picture. We have an almost 2 year old, and just starting TTC for #2 last week. Feel free to add me!
Good luck!0 -
Hi ladies! I'm 35 and have a 3 year old and a 1 year old (who will be 4 and 2 in June and May respectively). I'm thinking of TTC a 3rd when my daughter turns 2.
I put on a lot of weight in her pregnancy, and I've lost all of it and more, but my BMI is still 26. While I know BMI is a load of crap, I still want it under 25! I'm hoping that when/if I do decide to have another baby, I'll be so used to logging on MFP that I will continue to do so and minimise weight gain.0 -
I'm in the same boat! I want to start trying this summer and I know that the extra weight will not help. I won't be able to get to my "ideal" weight by then, but any extra weight off will definitly help! I'm going to be 31 so I have alot of motivation to get some babies here sooner than later!
Please feel free to add me!

feel free to add me too... I am 27, been ttc for about 18 months now. I'm not hugely obese - am 5 7 and 168.... but am carrying on my weight loss journey to see if that could be the answer, as I don't want to start with IUI yet...
good luck people, you can do it

Hi,
I'm not married yet but just recently started a great relationship with a wonderful guy, and I am trying to lose weight to prepare for my future (hopefully- marriage and children) with him.
I'm aiming to reach 140 by July, but we'll see. Feel free to message me whenever you're in a rut. I've been there.0 -
I'm 31 & in the same boat trying to lose some weight & get healthy so me & my partner can start trying for a baby.
Feel free to add me, it would be nice to have a good support group to keep motivated0
