Here is a a traditional Italian dish that I find to be absolutely amazing. The key to this dish is using the freshest ingredients possible.

1 Tomato, washed and sliced
1/2 ball of Bel Gioioso Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
2 fresh basil leaves
1/2 TSP extra virgin olive oil
Sprinkle of salt, pepper, and paprika

    I make this using cherry or grape tomatoes. I keep one of those live basil plants that you can get in most supermarkets. I also add balsamic vinegar as well as the oil.

    I recently saw a picture someone posted elsewhere of a similar appetizer - one cherry tomato, one piece of mozzarella and one basil leaf on a toothpick. I made those for a recent family gathering and used the vinegar as a dip.

    Now I have an urge for some ...

    I love caprese salads, but I have never used paprika in them. I'll have to try that.

    All time fav's! But I only eat in once in a while now because I will devour the entire ball of mozzarella. Still working on that thing called 'self control'.

    I have been lucky enough to eat this on the Isle of Capri, for which the dish is named. And there is nothing in the world like the ripe San Marzano tomatoes and fresh real mozzarella di bufalo, which is only made in this region.
    I could eat that cheese by the bucketful.
