I know there are alot of BMR discussion threads, but I have a question about my situation in particular. I understand to calculate my BMR and then subract 15 or 20% if I want to lose weight. I subtract both 15 and 20% but it comes up under or just a tad over 1200 calories. What am I doing wrong?
TDEE: 2010
Current BMR: 1462
-15%: 1,242.7
-20%: 1,169.4
I don't really feel comfortable eating 1,242 (very close to starvation mode) and I know not to eat under 1200 calories. Also, since I am working out 5 days a week (30 -45 minutes each), I noticed that I have a bigger appetitie. I also eat back all/most of my exercise calories.
Help please!

Subtract from the TDEE.0

Ahh, that makes much more sense! Now that I think about it, I don't know why I was doing BMR.0

The website I use (bmi-calculator.net/bmrcalculator/) says to multiply your BMR by 1.375 if you exercise 1-3 x per week to get your daily calorie need. And then subtract 500-1000 (but not more than 1000) calories from that to find how much you should be eating per day. Hope this helps!0

If you subtract 15-20% from your TDEE, do you get roughly the same numbers the way that you described?0 -
No, my daily calorie need (or TDEE) is 2336 based on the Harris-Benedict Equation on that website. That website says to eat 500-1000 below my TDEE to lose weight. 15 - 20% would only be 350 - 467 calories under my TDEE.0
