'Bye Bye' To The First Ten Pounds

This morning marked the permanent deletion of my first ten pounds, and the long awaited purchase of a new nail art stamping plate as a reward. As an avid collector of these, I couldn't put my hand in my pocket quickly enough and eagerly chose... an inflatable gym balance ball instead. What HAVE you lot done to me?

Congrats on the deletion of pounds and award acquisition. It's good to be able to reward yourself with anything but food for goals along the way and of course for that final goal. :drinker:0

Thanks. I've already got myself red-faced and exhausted with the new inflatable gym ball today. And now that I've pumped it up, I may even get round to actually exercising with it tomorrow0

Me too! I'm a seventh of the way there, just dreading when the numbers slow down as I've only been going 4 weeks and have been losing at least 2lbs a week!0

Congrats and keep it up!

Good for you!! 10lbs is no mean feat and it's what I like to call, the "kickstart" drop. Being in another bracket on the scales is amazingly encouraging and you are on your way!! Well done on the purchase, too. I've always wondered if they're any good. I know a few people that have them that swear by them so I may follow suit. Good on you, girl!!0

Thanks again to those who've responded since I so neglectfully forgot about the thread As to whether the balance balls are any good, I'm loving mine. I've not got round to using it to do much in the way of actual exercise moves yet, but I use it to replace my computer chair quite a lot, and every now and then I'll take a break and pull up a Youtube video featuring one of my favourite bands and bounce up and down like a lunatic for the duration (needless to say, I work from home!). I also sat with the radio on and listened to an entire football match on it last night while bouncing like crazy, and it even withstood the strain of the mega-bounce that came when my team won (Yessss!!!).
I think it's safe to say that this burns a lot more calories per minute than just sitting there. I read somewhere that bouncing on the ball uses up 58 calories every five minutes, but I wouldn't take that as gospel. As someone who has always prefered to work out in private after everyone has gone to bed, but struggles to find energetic stuff that I can do doesn't sound like a herd of elephants stampeding through the house, what I like about it most is that as long as I've got my headphones in, my frenzied bouncing sessions are virtually silent. I wish I'd bought one years ago0
