    well, i'd like to accomplish things for myself in life rather than have them handed to me, so I would rather be smart than attractive. Being smart can be attractive, but not vice versa.

    Smart. Smart people usually have good jobs. So they can afford to buy makeup/gym memberships/personal trainers to become more attractive.

    Dunno... an awful lot of people have managed to do very well for themselves by being attractive - you could say it's the smart thing to do :)
