clasp in the front, turn it around, arms through and adjust the girls.

I know it's not great on the bra, but I don't have the coordination to fasten it in the back!

could I get video's of each of you from beginning to end putting a bra on for uhhhhhhhh educational purposes?

    no
  • I clasp, twist, arms, adjust. Although I'm pretty sure the "right" way to do it is to put arms through first, fix cups, clasp, and adjust.

    ^^^This

same haha can't for the life of me clasp from behind but can un-clasp with a finger snap - haha more practice with that I suppose

    unclasping is easy!!!

Oh God... bras. Most days I just don't.
I tend to go with the clasp and twist method, but I'd be very interested if someone would explain why the other way is "better for me and my bra."

couldn't say for sure, but it is the method taught by all decent bra fitters/sellers

at a guess, i would say the bra will last longer being clasped in the back as it will stretch more and endure more wear and tear constantly being twisted.
same way you aren't supposed to machine wash them, though just about everyone does!

I was told it was the dryer that did all the damage. Melts the elastic or something like that?????:ohwell:

What if that's what it's really all about?

Arms through straps, bend from the waist to get "the girls" settled in the cups, stand, clasp, then adjust.

This is from the Goddess Bra site about how to put on a bra properly:

You have been blessed with fantastic boobs, so make the most of them.

Once you have figured out your size the next step is getting your bra on correctly. Putting a bra on is as easy as Swoop and Scoop ™.

Simply follow these steps to ensure your bra is a perfect fit.

Firstly, lean forward and allow your breasts to fall into your bra (what we call the swoop) so they sit in place naturally and comfortably. Then fasten the bra on the loosest hook and stand up. Lastly, scoop each breast gently into place in the bra (remember that breast tissue goes all the way to the underarm) to ensure they are comfortably positioned and not caught in the underwire or spilling out of the sides and use your index finger to smooth across the top cup edge to ensure there is no overspill.

And there you have it; it really is as simple as that.

I used to clasp, twist, arms, adjust...now I just wear a sports bra (I'm down to a 30 A/B from a 34 C and no longer see the point of a bra)

Sometimes I get my husband to do/undo the clasp for me, as long as we have an extra 20 minutes or so, anyway--he tends to get distracted easily...

Now I have to ask....do you ladies take them off exact reverse of how you put them on? the same way you put them on....

For example...if you clasp, twist, arms through, then adjust....do you then take if off by taking arms out, twist, unclasp?

If you are, then yer doing it wrong. Put it on however is comfortable...but your Significant Other is there for taking it off. Don't deny them their rightful place.

most bras say to hand wash. but i am in the business and I don't! I machine wash delicate with each bra in it's own mesh bag or knotted pillow case.
a bra will definitely last longer if it is treated well, the more you machine wash them the worse they get in terms of support, size, stretch/form, and looks usually.

but you are right about the dryer being the worst.

If you can help it, never ever ever put a bra in the dryer.

you are supposed to put it on, over the arms, clasp the back in the back, then adjust.
This is the "proper" way, better for the bra and you apparently.

I cannot for the life of me fasten it in the back no matter what i do, despite being in the bra business.

I clasp it in the front, turn it around.

This is me. There is no way I can hook it behind me. I spin the sucker around and stuff things in place.

So I AM doing it right!!! This is how I've done it since I started wearing a bra. Maybe because my mom took me to get fitted at Von Maur for my first one.

Same here. I can't clasp behind my back, so I gotta do the twist. lol

Clasp, twist, arms in adjust, go!

Is this an argument and you need opinions to settle?

ETA- the clasp part is in front....then twist to back.
