Hi everyone!
I haven't lost a pound in two weeks. I have my first training session with a trainer tonight. Has anyone had success with a trainer? I usually walk for an hour on the treadmill at 4.0 with a 2.0 incline and log all my food. I'm very frustrated!! I know it's not all about that but I would like to see results for my efforts, and I have a lot of weight to lose. i hit the gym 5-6 times a week! Help!!!

Had the same thing happen to me, and I know from reading others' posts that we're the majority, not the minority. I didn't see a pound lost in over 3 weeks, despite regular exercise and staying within target range. Then, one day, BAM! four pounds gone from the previous weeks' weight.
It's a speed bump; it's to be expected. Don't let it turn into a stop sign. You can do it.0 -
Are you keeping track of the fat burners?
Are you having the snacks inbetween meals that keep your body in fat buring mode?0 -
At first I wasn't but now I'm making sure I eat something every 3 hours. I don't have a heart rate monitor..should I get one?0

Hard to give you advice when your diary is private. Nutrition is usually more important than exercise when it comes to weight loss and muscle gain.0 -
How much do you eat each day? And what kinds of foods are you eating?0

It would be a good idea to add some resistance training (weights) to your workouts because muscle gives you a higher metabolism.0

Uh, what? Eating between meals will not keep your body in fat burning mode. You can eat any time of the day, night, whenever you want to eat. The important thing is to eat all your calories every day. 10 meals or 1 meal. It's up to you.0 -
I would guess a trainer is going to put you through more than walking on a treadmill. It may be that you need to up the intensity of your exercise, and I'm guessing the trainer will see to that.
That being said, I've been "doing all the right things" for almost a month and the scale has NOT cooperated. But it will. It's just a matter of who's gonna budge first. . .the scale or me. The scale is going DOWN!!!0 -
when i had a trainer he worked me so hard i couldnt move. so yes success for sure. lol0

First, like someone else said....incorporate some weight lifting. You don't have to do a lot, but you should do enough that the first set is easy and the third set is tough. Also, unless your joints prevent you from doing so or a doctor says you shouldn't, I would incorporate some intervals into the treadmill routine. Jog at 5.5 mph for a couple minutes....then walk for a couple minutes.0 -

Yeah...that is not a thing.
OP - as another poster said, just keep at it! Weight loss isn't linear and 2 weeks is definitely NOT a plateau. Be patient, keep at it, and you'll see progress!0 -
Something you should be prepared for, right after starting any exercise that is going to push your muscles more than you are used to will probably make you gain wait for a few days. Sore muscles retain water so the numbers on the scale will most likely not give you any real satisfaction at first. But patience, it will come!0

You aren't eating enough food. If your goal is to lose 110 lbs, you should probably be eating 1700 calories per day. You've got to properly fuel your body. You can starve yourself for a couple days but after that, your body is designed to compensate.
For me, I actually lose weight more effectively when I eat 2200 calories for a couple days before dropping back to 1500-1600 calories for the next five days. I'll gain a couple pounds on Saturday and Sunday, but I'll lose those plus one more by the next Friday.

Looking at your diary, my opinion would be that you're not eating enough. Seems like you are right around 1000-1200 on a daily basis. From what I've read on here and other places, you shouldn't net less than 1200 calories a day. And really you should be eating at least your BMR.
For me, I am 5'4", 31 yo, 189lbs, exercise 5 days a week 45-60 minutes and I eat 1800 daily and lose. Don't be scared to feed your body. It needs the nutrition to keep your energy levels up and to repair itself from the exercise.0 -
As said above - you aren't eating enough! Especially when you aren't eating back your exercise calories - I noticed one day at least where you didn't even net 1200 which is not good. It's said you shouldn't net below 1200 cals as this is the least amount your body needs just to tick over. I know it seems weird to eat more when you are on a "diet" but you body needs calories to carry out it's everyday functions.0
