ItWorks Body Wraps... Do they work?

I am not selling these. I just wanted to be clear to all the negative nancys out there that I am not in the business nor am I pushing this product. I was approached by a woman that I have known for a few years and She had congratulated me on my weight loss and then I brought up (Not knowing at the time that she was a consultant) the issue that I had skin already and I only felt normal when wearing a shaper. She brought up body wraps and said She said she was having them done for herself, Loved what it was doing, and decided to become a consultant. She then gave me a small flyer and explained the process to me and said she'd let me try my first one for free.....

I exercise like hell (my friends know this) and I eat very very healthy so I am not looking to this alternative to my lifting and healthy lifestyle. Does this work to help sculpt off body inches like the website/brochure says? I know that photoshop can do amazing work for these advertisements but to be totally honest, I am desperate for something. I know it is a process and I would have to pay for more and don't want to get sucked in by hope.

Thank you to all who give sound advice. I am not looking for this as a replacement to my life, I just really hate the way my sagging abdomen is looking. I can't physically exercise more than I already am and I am getting discouraged.

I highly doubt it would do anything, but go in for the free one and then wait a week before making any decision to pursue. Couldn't hurt. As far as I know, body wraps only dehydrate you and you may lose water weight. Also, any company that has to say "It works!" in the title is trying too hard to convince me and therefore loses my confidence.
  • I don't have an idea about the product nor do I know your friend so I cannot judge but as they say "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". And we are all different so just because it worked for your friend doesn't mean it will work for you too. Now I understand that sagging skin can be bothersome and makes us not appreciate our new selves. If you have the budget, I think setting up an appointment with a surgeon to get rid of the loose skin.

It says it in the name.....it has to work. Otherwise it would be false advertising. Seems legit to me.

Body wraps just dehydrated you so it looks like it did something. There's nothing other than time that will have any permanent effect on loose skin. It's supposed to take at least 2 years for skin to go back to as much of a normal state as it will. If you've lost a lot of weight and been overweight for a long time it may never go back. There's only so much nature can do.

Waste of money for non permanent results, IMO. Wrapping fat doesn't reduce it's density.

If you are getting ready for an event like a wedding/party it might slim your down an inch so you feel more confident in your dress, but sadly this will be just water weight not actual fat loss.
  • First, congratulations on all the progress you have made. As you know by now, it takes more time and effort to undo the effects of poor diet and a lack of physical activity. One of the unfortunate effects of excessive weight is literally increased skin surface area, which does not reduce/shrink as quickly as the fat deposits they are hiding. "Wraps" will not reduce the amount of surface skin. You wouold be better served to see a medical specialist about surgical removal of the excess skin, which should not be confused with lyposuction. Again, congratulations on your awesome accomplishment!

A friend of the family is selling these things and my Stepmom hosted a wrap party. I paid the $20 or whatever, it was just for her not because I expected anything from it. It's a waste of money in my opinion.

P.S. We also had pizza and wine after. Now THAT was the win.

$20 for pizza and wine. Sounds like ItWorks. Sounds like ItWorks quite well indeed.

LOL pictures eh? Did you know that it takes only photoshop to edit all those pics. And like any fad weight loss products, some of the before and after pics aren't the same person or the person in question has been slim all the time and then they were being well-fed until they get a little big enough for a 'before' pic after which they would then again diet and either use the wrap or not until they get back to where they have started, so the 'after' pic.

I know the body wraps at spas work. you lose a good number of inches but it only lasts about 3-5 days. It's pretty good if you need to get into a dress or if you have an event.

    I used them.

It honestly did work. I went down about 7 inches in 45 minutes and then after 72 hours when back up to a negative of 2 inches (not as big of a diff anymore) couldve just been the water i chugged after ward (they tell you to drink as much water as possible)

This only works with diet and exercise and if you CONTINUE to have it done.

On the other hand, the stretch mark cream DOES work wonders.

I was told by a consultant that in order for it to work, you have to drink nothing but water because the wrap dehydrates you.

Notice the different angle? Notice how her pants are now 2-3 inches lower?

I think it's a great way to lose water weight, and money. :(

I only see the first half of the photo...not the second half.
  • My husband tried them and so did I.......no results, definitely not with the money.
