45, 46 next month. Been here since July 2012, 43 pounds down. It isn't as easy as it was when I was younger, but it's still doable. :drinker:0

I am also in my 40's, trying to lose weight. I think menopause wants to get the best of me, but I'm gonna show it a thing or two!0

Just check in on this site every day, enter every food you eat throughout the day (add it as you eat it), write you weight down every day, and you will drop it in no time. It's a compulsion. BUt if you watch every move you make, then you will see where you are making the mistake. And when you start to drop the weight, you're note gonna let yourself make those little mistakes. You look great by the way!0

Oh goodness.. the sad part is I have been trying to lose weight all through my teens, 20's and 30's. Now I am in my 40's uuuuggghhhh. So before I get to my 50's.. I better get this thing licked. I have lost substantial weight two times in my life. Both times in my 30's.. Here I am a decade later and all the weight (and some friends) are back!!! I am really trying to get myself in order. I am actually starting OA today for the first time... (overeaters anonymous) I really think I need some folks in my life with the "problems". I obviously have an issue that needs some attention. I am a closet binge eater! My husband has a very professional job that requires being fit and at work alot! Those two things really feed my food addiction. The guilt for being (shhhh the F WORD) and the loneliness of being by myself. My kids are grown and my youngest (17) has a new girlfriend, so you know what that means. I AM BASCIALLY BY MYSELF. So I would love love love some help, some guidance, some words of wisdom. I need people in my corner to kick me in the butt once in a while!0

Hi I'm 51 with allot of weight to lose! I started with fitness pal about a week or so ago and just love it. I have some health issues and one of my meds causes weight gain, well if there is any side effect of weight gain you can believe I will get it. (Not that the meds are all to blame) I have made up my mind I can and will succeed this time and I'm hoping to get a good support team behind me. My husband is great but since he doesn’t have a weight problem he doesn’t know what it's like. I have been up and down with my weight all my life. I'm looking to lose over 100! I would love some online support0

Hi everyone
I'm 44 and had hysterectomy on hrt and other meds for back pain which limits what activities I can do. Comfort eat too so losing weight is really hard. I really need to lose 3 stone but working towards 1 first as 3 sounds too overwhelming :noway:
Think noting what I eat on this site will help and getting and giving support to others. if we have a bad day now and again though we should not beat ourselves up but must get back on track the next day and not give up.
As you can tell I am trying to be positive at this moment in time as need to lose weight for health reasons and to make me feel better about myself.0 -
Hi
I have type 2 diabetes too diet controlled (when I can manage it). I think I ignore it as I don't have to take meds for it yet so don't think it is too bad. But my daughter keeps telling me how people have lost feet and fingers etc to scare me.
I have seen diaticians and know what I should eat but find it hard. Good on you for doing so well to reverse it that encourages me. I snore really bad so maybe losing weight will help that too.
You've got everyone's support0 -
Hi
I know what it is like having meds that cause weight gain, I have 3 that do! Like you I can't blame everything on them but it does make it harder to lose.
On my first week, had very good days and a couple of not so good. It isn't easy but if we can shift some pounds slowly it will help us.0 -
I will be 56 this year. I have an open food diary and log daily. I have type 2 diabetes (and hardly have to take my meds now). I do eat 6 times a day. 3 main meals and 3 snacks. I put the times I eat and my FBS in my notes. Feel free to add me0

Hi.. I'm 65 years of age and need to lose weight for health reasons mainly and to look better than i do ( who am i kidding aye??? haha! ) Since January 2012 i have lost 1.st 9.lbs, but got stuck so joined this site. .
I've looked at some of posts and comment on this site and everyone is doing so well....Good Luck to everyone and keep up the good work. Best Wishes Sarah0 -
Hello, I'll be turning 43 in June and hoping to lose70 pounds. One month in and I've lost 12 pounds. MFP makes it easy and definiitely makes me think about how much and what I'm putting in my mouth. Good luck to everyone and feel free to add me!
That's a huge loss fast! MFP makes me conscious of what I'm doing, too. I love the fact that the system automatically warns me if I'm starving myself -- I know I have the possibility of being an all-or-nothing girl, and MFP is helping me with the slow and steady, and that fluctuations during the month are normal, and especially so 'cause I'm a girl. Oddly, I'm at my lowest usually the day before my period starts, and the highest right at the end. This seems counterintuitive to me.
Guys, my apologies if I just squicked you out!0
