mid morning, mid afternoon snack

I have a desk job and try to snack twice a day so i dont over eat at lunch or dinner. What is your favorite healthy snacks? I usually eat a handful of almonds or an apple.:smile:

    I have a desk job too. I just started MFP but I'm going to keep raisins, mini rice cakes, and granola bars in my desk.

    good call. i never thought i liked raisins until i tried them on celery and peanut butter... not too bad :)

    I don't have a desk job though. I'm on leave from college so I have to snack so I don't eat my house down!

    I keep several kinds of tea (green and black), Kind bars, pistachios (in the shell), dried papaya spears, and clementines at my desk. Plus a liter-sized water bottle I can refill from our water machine.
  • I also sit at a desk, and have a morning and afternoon snack. Morning snack is either fruit or yogurt, sometimes a hard-boiled egg. Afternoon snack is generally veggies or nuts. A few times I've made a huge salad of veggies, and have that with a little bit of balsamic viniagrette... generally 150 calories, and a great afternoon snack!

    I also drink herbal tea throughout the day

    I microwave some Progresso light soup - usually the 70-100 calorie versions for a total of 140-200 calorie very satisfying snack!

    If you can't microwave it at work, heat at home and bring in a thermos. Deeeeelicious!!! :flowerforyou:

    almonds and apples are frequent for me as well. I also like Seapoint Farms dry roasted edamame, Kashi granola bars or low sodium V8
  • We have a fridge at my work so I keep some baby carrots and beef sticks in there for a snack.

    Otherwise, wheat thin honey wheat stix, pretzels, fruit are at my desk in case I get a craving.

    I love snack time; I hate feeling hungry. Random things I pack: Half a grapfruit or orange. Banana. Egg whites and cheese. Cheese with light wasa crackers. Plain greek yogurt with strawberries and half serving of granola. Clif kids bars (120 calories and tastes yummy). Unsalted almonds. I drink hot tea all day to keep distracted.

    AM - Apple and cheese stick
    PM - almonds then a little later a greek yogurt

    I rarely stray from this :laugh:
