Ladies 5"7 (or near there)-- what are your goals ?

I'm currently at 142 and would like to be at 135 so my drivers license isn't a lie anymore but I also want to make sure I'm feeling good the lower I go. That's what's most important to me - high energy and generally feeling as healthy as possible.
Congratulations to everyone!!0 -
It seems my goal weight is higher then most, But i suppose when i get there i will evaluate and see how much more i want to lose:)
sw: 235
cw: 229
gw: 180
So I am curious does 180 seem like too much for 5'7?0 -

-- I do not think anyone can say if it seems like too much. It's your body and you know it better than we do! I think it depends on your build, frame and musculature. I think you should aim for your goal of 180 and if you're not satisfied then you can keep going. But it seems like you're doing fantastically so far and I'm sure you'll keep it up!0 -

I am very big boned so I'm not sure I'd look right if I was 140-160 lbs. I mean, I wear a size 10 ring!0 -

GW was 125, but I'm kind of happy with where I am right now.

I'm 5'7"-5'8", 22. My highest weight was probably 210-215, I was afraid of the scale though... now I love it and it's my biggest motivation.
My next goal is to get to 160 because I will be back in the normal BMI bracket for the first time since tenth grade almost 10 years ago. Also I'd like to lose another 10% of my BF at least, right now it's around 35%

Claire - good points you make also. Losing under a certain point easily makes us look older (at a point we are already starting to fight that!). In college I was not muscular, but looked very think, and was 150. 160 now with this muscle or not and I should be just about perfect for me.0

27 yr old here
I just started Monday so my SW is 297. I know I'd like to be back under 200 lbs., but from there I'm not really sure. I'm going to focus on little goals until I hit that 100 lb. mark and then reassess. The smallest I've ever been is about 170, but I was a size 12 then and when I look back at pictures I was so thin. Granted I didn't exercise a lot then so this time I'd like to tone as I go. It's funny how even girls of the same height can be shaped so differently. I do know that I don't want to be anywhere under 160. I think I'd look sick!0 -

My mom is my height and 130lbs. and she is perfect, it suits her body type which is mine too so I made it my goal! (She is also a huge inspiration because she used to weigh over 200lbs as well)0 -

I am also a pear shape. I have been as low as 130, but when I was at my fittest, (running 400m in 56sec) I was around 145. I'd rather be 145, muscular and fit, than 130 and weak.0 -

You should chek out mybodygallery.com. You plug in a weight, height and body shape and real women have sent in pix of what they look like...it has really helped me envision my goal along the way.
Good luck to you!0 -

My main goal now is to keep moving and to eat healthy food instead of low-calorie junk. I have no fashion sense, so it's hard for me to use appearance or clothes as a goal (I'm pretty sure that I could weigh 135 pounds and I'd STILL head straight for the mom jeans, sweatshirts, and white tennis shoes). At 165 I'd still need to be just active enough to meet my activity goal, so that's what I'm shooting for. :-)0 -
Oh, I should add that the reason I have an activity goal is that my mother, grandmother, and probably great-grandmother all developed diabetes in their 50s and dementia fairly early, possibly related to their diabetes. I think staying active might help me to not follow the family tradition. :-)0

Hi! I had quite a similar SW to you, im 5"8
SW 180ish
CW 142
GW 130-135?
BF: 23%ish
My goal weight keeps decreasing as my weight does! Everytime I get close I realise I'm not where I want to be yet, but that is much more about body composition rather than actual weight! I would like my body fat to be below 20%, even 19.9% haha!
Before losing weight people used to say I was one of those people who was "never going to be really skinny", and I agreed, thought I had a large frame but as I have lost weight I see the real me, and in fact I have got quite a small frame under the fat!
Basically what I am saying is, your goal weight and your objectives can change as you lose weight, you will know when you are happy and it won't be because of a number on the scale, but because of how you feel when you look in the mirror! Just keep going, you will be there before you know it!! x0 -

Seems high but I think I have a lot of muscle...I can't imagine myself being less then 170lbs. In my early 20's I was 175lbs and solid muscle (was a firefighter and worked out for about 2 hrs a day). I think 180lbs will be a good weight for me.0 -

160-170 is about a size 10 for me. Less than this just doesn't look right on me as I have a large frame and am pretty muscular. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this way, its not all in my head and that I'm not selling myself short by setting my goal weight at what some ladies have as their starting weight.0 -

I am in the same boat as you ladies. I'm glad to see there are more of us out there. I hate the sound of 164 (my goal weight), but it looks better on me than anything lower than that.0
