    I normally give up chocolate every year, but it's been getting too easy, so I thought alcohol (I have a drink nearly every night :-s ) and having a better lifestyle in general.

    I'm giving up Tim Horton's and McDonald's coffee. I drink between 3 - 4 a day.

    Nothing for Lent.
    But Lent does overlap with Passover, and hubby is Jewish, so we'll be tossing out/hiding anything that is leavened and giving the house a good cleaning.

    Shopping for things I don't need. So, obviously I'll pay bills and put gas in the car, but no new clothes, and, since it's not necessary, no buying junk food or alcohol.

    I won't be eating after 8pm, unless it's a real meal that I missed because the day went long, or if there is a special event with loved ones. This will cut out the mindless bedtime snacking and give my insides a rest! It makes me cranky if I eat before bed, so this will be an improvement in me for sure. :)

    LOL......love it!
    Are people giving up things for Lent because of religious beliefs or just giving things up because it seems to be the thing to do? Just curious.

    I am trying to get a good goal! I have always loved Lent to set goals and get positively focused. One year I gave up coffee which was terrible :tongue: but otherwise it has always been a great way to follow through on a goal. Help me come up with ideas, just dont take away my wine or coffee!!

    What are you giving up for Lent this year?
    ME TOO....OH MY GAWD!!:cry::sad:

    Last year I di the "Daniel fast" which pretty much eliminates all processed food and meat...thinking I'll repeat it again this year.
