Scale Question

My scale has been saying the exact same number for 3 weeks or so. How can I tell if it's me not losing weight or its the scale that's broken? I'm planning on changing the batteries today just in case.. lol

I'm chuckling because I thought the same thing last week! It kept showing 144.4 over and over again which was a gain from the previous week. I tested it out by stepping half off the scale and half on, and sure enough it recorded the proper weight so no luck, the scale was fine it was I who had in fact gained a couple of pounds. I ended up changing my approach to the TDEE method and I'm down almost 2 1/2 pounds this week.

I know, I know. Mine read 201.1 for about a week! 3 weeks is a pretty long time though. Changing the batteries couldn't hurt.

Do you have any hand weights? Or something of a known weight (large back of flour, rice, beans, potatoes, etc).

If you have something of a known weight put that on the scale and see what it reads. If it reads it correctly than the scale and battery are fine.
  • Pick up a big stack of books. Or a cat. Or a brick.... and go weigh yourself with the extra items!! Hahaha. I had to do that a couple weeks ago. Turns out the scale was indeed broken hahaha.
