Reicpe Building - Deep Frying?

How do you add the calories to deep fry something when you build a recipe? I know, deep frying is taboo here - but, it is time for a once a year treat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasnacht_(doughnut)) and I don't believe in giving up those sorts of treats. Something once a year won't do me in!

There is no hard fast rule about how many calories are retained by the food you deep fry. A turkey for example will not add that many calories when deep fried. On the other hand a very healthy sweet potato that's under 250 calories can be turned into 700 calories of nightmare. The rule that I would follow would be to keep the heat high to minimize absorption of oil and produce the crispiest exterior possible. Second, I would look to fast food or chain restaurants that make the same item and use their calorie counts for estimation of calories. Third, I would use this new tool of the weight loss adversary sparingly.0

I guess I will measure the before and after amount of oil and divide that amongst all the fasnachts... I don't have a deep fryer and am just doing this in a pot, so (hopefully) that will work.0
