Well the numbers were not pretty this week especially for yours truly. I knew last week was an anomoly. Congrats to Renae for being the only loser this week. So I am going to instill a new policy, whoever wins the weigh in each week wins the opportunity to come up with the weekly challenge..

MFP-27.jpg

We have seen our numbers come down. I guess its time to do more recruiting.

Everyone's welcome to join this team. We do weekly weigh-ins, challenges and use this forum to keep each other motivated. You just need to send Jack your starting weight and new weight each week on Sunday. Then start posting. It's that easy and it really does help.

    Good luck! Hawkeye

The challenges vary week to week. It all depends on what is suggested by the team. Some weeks it's related to exercise (x number of push-ups per day, number of times working out, etc..) or it can be food related challenges like not eating fast food for the week, etc..

We are looking for new members and creative challenges, so please join us.

    Thanks, Hawkeye

Good afternoon team...Congrats to Renae for being our loser this week. I am struggling. Maybe next week will be better. Hope you all have a great day.

Welcome to all the new members. Just jump on and introduce yourself:smile:

    Yes, Welcome all.

The 1st week you need to tell me starting weight, last Sunday weight and the curent weight. After that, you just need to tell me the current weight.

We weigh in on Sundays, and deadline for getting me weigh ins is usually Monday at noon. After noon I post the chart. The more postings the better, the group here has been doing it a while, so many of the questions you may have can be answered here. Everyone here is routing for one another, so its a very friendly place.

Hello all, an welcome to the newbies. I can't believe I won this week, hopefully I can keep it up. I keep fluctuating between, 157-159, so hopefully I can break that. I am not meeting my personal goal so far this week, I wanted to be 155 by May 1. Still have a few points to go.

It has been really hot here the last week. I have been doing a dvd some mornings, this month I have been doing Biggest Loser Power Sculpt. Then in the evenings I go for a 30-45 minute walk.

We have also been busy farming, so that has kept me on the run.

As for a challenge this week, I am going to pick 2, one for nutrition, and one for exercise. For nutrition, and for some reason it has been one I am usually good with but have been slacking this month, is to drink all your daily water. And for exercise I pick excersing 4 times this week for at least 30 mins. We should check in each day to post whether we have done it or not.

I hope everyone has a good day. Will check back in this evening.

PS - Fattening supper tonight, taking lasagna out to the field, and had chili last night (then I wonder why i can't break 157) lol

Today, 31 min running, 5 min walking, 3 min stretching out.

So question, I drink Iced Tea like crazy, does this count as water or not. I have to think it is having the same effect, with the exception fo the caffeine I am getting, any thoughts? Is the purpose of the water to flush out the salt and fill you up, if so, I am guessing Iced tea does the same thing.

I exercised for 60 min yesterday and gardened for 30. So can I count that as doing at least 30 every day - even if I don't do anything tonight. I think I will since I did 90 yesterday. I also drank all my water already for today.

    Good challenges Renae:happy:

That would count as water, but you are getting the extra caffeine and sugar as well. And yes I assume the purpose is to fill you up and flush out system.

No Sugar, I do use lemons every so often, but the only other thing I put in my tea is ice.

Well I drank all my water yesturday, and did 25 min of power scult level 1. I never did my walk in the evening but instead stayed out at the farm and helped the hubby put the packers on the cultivator. So I am sure I burned some cals there. I am extremely sore in chest/shoulders/neck today. Not sure if it is from power sculpt, or picking and pulling roots on Sunday. Prob a combination of both.

    Happy Hump Day Team,

I drank my water quota and then some yesterday.

I had a good workout last night and even tried something a bit different to change things up. On the recommendation of a trainer, I lifted weights before doing my cardio. I normally do cardio first to get my heart rate up and then hit the weights. I actually liked lifting first because I found I had a lot more energy and still didn't feel spent by the time I hit the cardio at the end. I have also starting heart rate zone training which is has been a real eye opener for me. In the past, my goal was to keep my heart rate up thinking that I was burning more calories by sweating more and really pushing it. Well I found that using my HRM I am burning just as many calories at a much lower heart rate zone. And I am also buring fat and carbs and not muscle.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Hawkeye

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Challenge wise, I have been doing pretty good water wise, a lot better than before I re-started MFP anyways! I have been bringing my reusable water bottle with me everywhere! Thank goodness for my giant diaper bag because it fits in perfectly!

Tuesdays and Thursdays are my rest days (I have classes those days!), but every other morning I'm up and running/walking around the lake I live by. This Saturday I'm participating in my second 5k, which I'm very excited about!

Hello everyone!! Just checking in...How is everyone doing? I am now 26 1/2 weeks pregnant with a little girl. We are very excited. Not too thrilled with the 21 pounds I've gained, but proud it's no where near to the 60 I ended up with the first time around. Hope you are all doing well. Keep up the good work. Look for me to come back around September after the baby comes and I feel human again. I have a goal weight of 150 and will probably have a good 20-25 to lose! Talk to you later. I am proud of you all...Christy

Great job! I am still working up to my first 5K. Every time I get close something happens to set me back. I hope to run my first one in the fall. Good luck Saturday!

I walked briskly at noon for an hour in my sketcher metabolize shoes. It really does work out your hips and calves. I also drank all my water. That is never a problem for me. I weigh less now than I did this morning - so that is encouraging. (yes I admit to weighing myself 3 times each - morning, before supper and before bed) I am obsessive about other things as well!!!!

Renae - my husband also farms but I am unable to lift very much to help. I disk which is just sitting there. We have a gps system in the tractor and EasySteer- so when you engage it., the tractor will drive itself until you get to the headlands and then you take over.
It is supposed to save on fuel because it remembers where it has been and sets up the next line and just steers itself to it. Actually quite fun.

We are only hobby farmers in Ontario and cash crop only - we put in about 225 acres so we are small. We also both work full time - I am a legal assistant and he is a parts and service manager for a farm equipment dealership. So he gets good deals on his toys!!!

Good day all. Got all my water in already, and didn't exercise per say today, but went for 2 short walks downtown with kids, then did 60 min of yard work which included cutting grass, and moving a wood pile from the front yard to the back yard using the kids wagon. Had on my HRM and burned 408 cals. I was going to go for a walk after supper, but honestly I am tuckered out, and prob should bath the kids and do some books.

Susan, what do you farm there, I hear corn is popular in Ontario. We aren't so lucky to have the toys of GPS and easy steer, plus our land is to wet, and to many sloughs. We farm 1600 acres, and are seeding canola this year. Hubby started seeding today, and as far I know things are going okay. Just pray the rain stay away.

Renae - we plant corn and soybeans. In a wet year we may stick in some buckwheat just to keep the weeds down.

We tried winter and spring wheat but gave it up due to lack of success.. Wow 1600 acres - that is definitely a full time job!!

WE are 3/4's done as of last night - just our untiled wetter fields left.

    Morning Team,

Sounds like Renae and Susan need to send all of us some of those great veggies they are growing. My wife works for a shipping company so I will gladly cover the cost to send them.

Drank all of my water yesterday and got in some moderate excercise by the way of golf last night. We use carts since we play in a work league later in the day and only play nine holes, but exercise is exercise.

Hope everyone has a great day. Hawkeye

Well I have been drinking all my water today, and it is another hot day, but really windy. Took my son to playschool at 1 and then headed out for my walk. Ended up walking for approx 60 mins, and burnt 660 calories. Have to take supper out to the field tonight, so it is going to be bbq pork chops, baked potato, and some heathly steamed veggies. I am also surprising my husband with a frozen peanut butter turtle pie ( I may just have to have a tiny sliver). The recipe said for 89g it is 350 cals, so i fiugre I will have to have some, since I burned so much walking. Must watch the Grey's Anatomy Finale tonight as well.

We grow soybeans and corn. Hawkeye you don't want to eat what we grow- at least not the corn - it is feed grade cow corn and harder than you know what -not like the wonderful sweet corn everyone eats.

I did my walk at noon and drank my water
