How do dumbells and resistance affect weight loss?

I'm pretty new to any kind of fitness, so you'll have to excuse any dumb questions! I've been using dumbbells and resistance bands for toning, but I'm not sure how to record these. Do I get credit for calories burned at all? Or is there some other way to record them? I don't think it really helps with weight loss, but I feel like I should get some kind of credit for them? Any advice will be much appreciated!

Look under cardiovascular and 'strength training'0

calorie burn for strength training is pretty difficult to quantify due to the number of variables involved.
I personally do not log it, but just eat a little more on those days.0
